On the other hand, I can see him work out as a support. His slow has retarded range and is quite strong on level 1, silence is very strong as well, and his spells have good range in general. Not sure if it would be worth it over other top tier supports though.

If you can force a tri vs tri situation, I think skywrath would fare decently well vs a lot of the currently popular non mid solos (lone druid, weaver, natures prophet, clockwerk, I'm sure I am forgetting others) and be able to contribute majorly to lots of different lineup styles, with the huge damage, nice range, slow, and built-in orchid he brings to the table if he can only get a decent start.
