You should try to limit it as much as possible, though! What kind of retards are we talking about? Clueless people, or verbal people? Are you sure nothing might've instigated their reaction(aside from gameplay)?

Unless me saying "me + lich bot" somehow instigated him into screaming shit on the mic, typing a bunch of fucking shit, and coming bottom and ruining the lane while just screaming ME LAST HIT YOU SUCK DICK ME LAST HIT YOU SUCK DICK.... then no I don't think I instigated him in any way. First abandon in ~430 games... I don't understand why people would play the game just to ruin it for others.

For example: My account, which got a key directly from Valve before they sent out keys by email, and has already received 2 keys in the past, did not receive any additional keys this time. Also, my secondary account, which got a key from a friend invite from an account which got a key directly from Valve before invites were sent out by email, also did not receive any keys.

For me these are the first keys I received, as I initially received dota 2 beta from a friend as a gift.

I have 300 hours played and the only other friend I know that got 2 keys also has 300+ hours played, so maybe it's based off play time. this basicly................ i think its a reward for people who actually playthe game. currently have 944 hours on dota2....... half of them are afk @_@

The CS:GO twitter said they're giving out friend invites for CS:GO based on playtime so I think that answers the question.

I got my account through an invite from a friend (he got 2 invites back in November 2011). I have 600+ hours logged since getting my key, 11-11-11 (no joke, skyrim, dota2 wassup). I got my 2 additional keys tonight, these are the first key's valve has given to me.

Do stream occasionly though, check out if u hv free time ![]()

It came with 2 keys which I gave to TL, and now I got 2 more from valve which I am also giving to TL. I've got about 400 hours of playtime (lots of it is idling in game tbh) dont know why i got more keys and phil didn't though :S And what a glorious day it was. I actually did receive 2 keys today!
