Is OD even supposed to still win that lane? I didn't die or anything, but I did not feel able to dominate vs. that range and animation. I just took so much damage getting close enough to astral. Also in other news, OD aura + skywrath = roflpwnage

Unless you're completely crushing the opposing bot team by yourself, I seem to always lose into the midgame due to team being 3 steps more dumb than the opponents ![]() Also, Harvard thinks I'm 29. Nice try, only 6 years off.. I think I can decipher their code: Rand random = new Random(); int n = rand.nextInt(10) + 25; system out println(n);

Also in other news, OD aura + skywrath = roflpwnage od still wins the lane. like you said, he wont dominate, but you should end up with higher cs and levels than viper in the end. you could try getting orb at lvl 4 though, if you feel like experimenting On April 22 2013 20:08 Excludos wrote: Someone explain to me why, when playing against bots, they tend to clump up 5 man in the midgame and start pushing, while the team you're on instead fancies spreading out as much as possible, and go in and die one by one. Also in other news, OD aura + skywrath = roflpwnage when you have OD mid its best to be able to see him for the easiest astrals, so the optimal position is creeps on the edge of your high ground. if you're having trouble seeing him when you want to astral you're probably not controlling the lane correctly, because if you cant actually get an astral off and you have to turn around to back up, a perfectly positioned viper can take advantage of you being turned around and start poison orbing you easily. if you find yourself having difficulty in astraling them, you can try doing it when they try to get last hits in but keep in mind he may just target you. this is a general tip for many heroes, especially the ones with bad animations/slow turn rates you can take advantage of

Regarding bots, I do sometimes practise and try out new things vs them when I don't want to straight up fail vs humans, but 95% of my games are in matchmaking. And yeah the AI is pretty rubbish and some AI heroes like Shadow Blade Sniper can be annoying.

Nice try, only 6 years off.. I think I can decipher their code: Rand random = new Random(); int n = rand.nextInt(10) + 25; system out println(n); My brother and cousin tend to play bots game from time to time when i am home so i know what you mean. I figure most people have no idea or dont give a damn anyway so I never mention it to anyone xD Here is what i thought, the design of the bots directly showed us how amateurish valve or at least the guy who is responsible for the bots game or their/his level of the understanding of the game is merely at a low/mid-ish level. Yes, you can see that these bots go pubtrain mode during mid game lol and they will dive/chase you the whole map if you were the one owning the them. But trust me you can definitely beat Hard AIs with any hero though (Unfair queue takes forever iirc so i don't have much experience on that), and i mean it on any lane with any hero, while it requires you to know the heroes well and good game sense because bots AIs are really predictable and most of them don't have the AI to deal with many heroes. Some rant related to the AI: There is nothing special about the heroes' AIs especially when you compared them to the good old dota1 ai map (made by some guy with a 'cloud' in his name iirc), i mean, granted most of the later dota1 ai maps suck anyway but compared them to the dota2's bots, dota2/valve/guy behind bots game is at least one level below them. I am afraid Icefrog don't have that time/energy/authority to manage that many stuffs so dota2 development is inevitably going to be hindered by the 'incompetent' people of the studio (as in they are incompetent in understanding the game but clearly they are professionals in their related fields since valve hired them in the first place), just look at the MM. I figure some other annoying little flaws have something to do with those people too, like buying smoke/ward/sentry with courier won't give the indicator/line beside the screen ie it is a genuine mistake or they simply don't acknowledge the importance of things like that in the game.

I think that's part of the test. It's pattern recognition. In cases where they apply the pattern you should be faster compared to where it's not moving in said pattern. And they assume that people from certain age groups have a different pattern recognition ability. Of course that's not the only indicator.
