Personally switched to edited, way more convenient. Using numpad for inventory nowadays? Nostalgic!

I personally use 700 radius when playing SF.
Make razes much easier and I wont say its cheating since everybody can do it if they want to

Everyone could maphack if they wanted to do it. Whilst I think it is a fairly innocent thing (the radius), the argument is pretty bad.

ok I will add:
everyone can do it with the tools given by the developer to play the game with.

its more like everyone can 6 pool if they want to, if you lose to it then it's your problem.

Interestingly, Dota 2 can't be map hacked like other games. The servers don't trasmit to your computer anything that occurs in the fog of war. To maphack you would have to physically hack the Valve servers.

You are completely correct but I was taking an example of something which everyone can probably agree is cheating in a competitive game to illustrate a general point.

It would probably be fair to prevent it from being used in tournament games. The premise behind a tool like that is to help people get better faster, by the time someone is playing in a large tournament they shouldn't need the 1200 circle thing at all.

Not using radius circle is manly. I pity those others use it. Be a man and play old school.

dota_disable_range_finder 0 is far more game breaking than the 1200 radius thing.

Even if you have dota_disable_range_finder 0, the game still shows when spells are out of range for you by changing the cursor (the targeting cursor has a little stick figure walking in the bottom right when you have to move into casting range).

The 1200 range display is useful because it lets you measure range for spells that DotA deliberately does NOT display a range for (e.g. Blink Dagger doesn't display its 1200 range and allows you to over-blink).

The one hero I use the range display for is lone druid. Knowing exactly where you have to stand to allow your bear to attack is amazing.

yes, max blink dagger range matters for a lot of heroes.
