Or just reduce the recipe to 1K gold. 700 is too little. I suppose I should clarify, I'm not certain the item needs a real buff, but if we are discussing possible ones...

This would make the item purchaseable against heroes like zeus and bristleback, without making it uncounterably good or anything. It would remain situational, but it wouldn't be super-wasted on heroes like morph who almost HAVE to buy it, even when their opponents counter it really hard. This change would be really cool but rather impossible to do in wc3

It's a farming item with weak combat power, in the same vein of Battle Fury and Radiance. It's infrequently bought not because it's bad as a farming item but because the game tempo doesn't allow those farming items that often. At the same time you can't haphazardly make it stronger because then it would become too strong if the game ever becomes slower and more farm-oriented again.

I BELIEVE OK yeah not gonna happen. Still would be cool :3

It's just that "what it's supposed to do" (a regen-focused farming item for heroes that have spell-based farming ability and use the shield to help them farm/splitpush safely) isn't something that's commonly necessary in the current game. I always thought the recipe of the item was a tad outrageous - I think if you lower the receipe to 900g / 1k, I would start getting it on Morph again.

Even if you got it right, you'd have no way of knowing that you got it right, because even in a perfectly balanced game, people would still bandwagon super hard anyway. I support non-Buff Placer Frostmourne because it would make Boots OoV Abaddon with random gold awesome. I didn't think buff placers existed in dota 2. Won't this work when dota 2 ports Abaddon unless Frostmourne is a UAM?

Dunno, Ulti orb is a pretty bad item either way. Should make it cost 2K PS: I come up with random ideas a lot but I have way more faith in icefraud balance than my own so plz don't assume I'm actually trying to say I'm smarter than IF or anything. I just like brainstorming.

Well, heroes that go sheep stick tend to be int heroes, and ulti orb is a bit more useful in the midgame because of the even stat gain (+10 str is nice on int heroes ).

Generally, to increase her impact past the midgame, she deperately needs to pick up a sheepstick or orchid so she has some sort of disable in teamfights or ganking, as her magic damage tails off rather rapidly. Linkens would just be a better choice for her, as usually BKB is preferred over Linkens being cheaper and dealing with more disables (would be nice for storm as well.)

I was just listing examples of heroes, who go for a linkens sometimes and the buff resulting in those particular heroes getting it more often. Where do you see me saying, that QoP needs a buff? I could obviously just throw some random numbers and suggestions out without giving any examples of justification, but that would hardly benefit the discussion.

I do think shivas could use a little bit of help but I'm not sure what. Its kinda (actually a lot) like atos. It sounds awesome but it just doesn't play that well. Int as a stat is just so bad.

That last part isn't a good argument, because dark seer really doesn't need a buff. I do think shivas could use a little bit of help but I'm not sure what. Its kinda (actually a lot) like atos. It sounds awesome but it just doesn't play that well. Int as a stat is just so bad. Shivas is a good item - there are just ones that have higher priority on supports (basically sheepstick). And the passive aura is totally underrated - its really, really good.
