I think the best kind of IHL would be an IHL based pretty much exclusively on teams. Have a team? You can get in, rate them by some elo system or whatever.

IHLs aren't for teams. -.-;

Why not make one for them? I'm a firm believer that you'll improve faster playing with the same group of people than you would playing solo w/ randoms, or solo with a random assortment from some IHL.

they never really seem all that great 90% of the year. it's pretty funny, but they always seem to do well when they realize they need to actually work to keep winning.

hahah i agree with that. but IHLs are for "serious pubs" and usually people draw from IHLs as a talent pool to build an amateur team out of. so forcing people to be in a team to do IHLs would be making pubs the talent pool, and that'll be far worse. Team matchmaking by valve will sort out the amateur competition ladder stuff people need.

Uhh... well if you've ever tried to run a vouch game system basically it gets to the point where none of the admins want to run vouch games.

Care to explain in detail? I never played and never knew anyone playing a vouch game league.
Is the problem the players getting elitist or is it more that the workload of registering every single player by hand is too much?

people are too lazy to do vouches; lots of shitty players get vouched or want to be; no reward for running vouch games other than increasing number of bad players (like me), etc.

i'm assuming what Shaella means by "team" is if you are on a well-known sponsored team or something like that, otherwise anybody can be on a team and then having an ihl becomes pointless if players aren't on a similar skill level

also that entire notion makes no sense because scrims are for teams not ihls

From how i remember it from back in the day... All of the above :p. I made it in/was in for a really, really long time... But beware pissing one of the "known guys" off or just having a bad game and one of them happens to be in. One game they could praise you, the very next game they wanted to ban you (that was my experience from clan dce towards the end of "its time", it was a cool place for some time tho :p).

Aww, a fellow dce'er? xD

@ the guy quoted, from my experience as voucher(and generally being a member of these proleagues) to be a good voucher one has to have 0 real life, not even kidding.
So, after a while you just stop care and quit, lol.

IRC used to work very well for CS, on the right chans people were quite honest concerning their skill level, low mid high eventually +/- & there was always one with a teamspeak server. It was nice to have organised play without having a really organised team. All the things you're speaking about seem so much more complicated.

True, but I don't think it's ever been this bad. Na'Vi games are just painful to watch these days.

I'm getting a lot of solo queue anxieties now because even I only have the English selected, I always get at least 2 or 3 people that speak something else. This is honestly the worst feeling ever.

Watching mouz play this broodmother, and I am not convinced by pas so far. He is giving up spiderites which are actually worth more than the big guys, and do much less damage. prob should of got lvl 2 nuke at 3 and actually made space. Maybe I'll eat my words though
