Unless the name was changed due to copyright (see leoric) they still have the same names. Tinker is still boush. Ogre magi is still Aggron Stonebreak.
Do you actually talk to Ogre in game by saying Aggron? Cause there's no way anyone knows that.

On the contrary, tons of people know it. You're underestimating the popularity of both dota1 (a huge number of people played it at one time and the flavor names were displayed larger than the class names. As such they are stuck in people's minds) and dota2 (3 million unique players in february) if you think no one knows it. Now, whether a large PERCENT of all the people playing dota2 know it is another question . . .
However my money would be on him referring to Ogre Magi as ogre in-game

You can get by surprisingly well by referring to stuff by it's HoN name in-game. Most of the semi-decent players that I've run across played some amount, enough to follow what I was saying.
Of course, in this community its horribly unacceptable (for who knows what reason) to do that...
I mean, sure everybody knows that Shadow Shaman is "Rhasta", but I don't see how its any better to call him Rhasta than it is to call him Pollywog Priest. Practically nowhere in-game is there a good way to find out who rhasta is.

It's a lot easier to say Furion or Rhasta. There is no reason to say Mortred instead of PA except to be a dick to those who didn't play WC3 Dota.

Been having some serious problems with my keyboard when playing Dota2. Cannot caps some letters for instance, and shift-enter doesn't do anything. Plus, I can't unpause games o.o

Easy answer, valve has put some restrictions on you. Less raging with caps lock, less manner un-pausing!
Just kidding, but i'm having problems with some keys too. Though, they are obviously bugs. Some letters won't work at times unless you type it in capital letters e.g
What keyboard do you have? Razer perhaps?

I have an old wireless Microsoft keyboard. My first thought was that it might be the wireless that is messing things up, but I'm not having problems with anything else, so it's definitely because of bugs with the game like you said.

Why would you communicate in ways you know at least some of your teammates are unlikely to understand? That rather defeats the purpose of communication, does it not?

No you look like a diluted idiot holding onto nostalgia when you mention unit/hero names in their WC3 counterparts.
Soon enough there will be an audience that doesn't know what "sentinel" or "scourge" means nor will they understand why you would call a Disruptor thrall. We've also started to move past the point where people that were into HoN began familiarizing themselves with DotA terminology as well, I haven't seen a decent pub game where someone unironically used a HoN term.
