The thing i noticed is that even in VH, with low number of games people tend to be much more terrible and the skill level is much more varied, like u get people that get 100 lh in 30 min games with carries etc... Because of that, playing support is a nightmare and i have shitty win rates with my supports on smurf, while i have best win rates with midders, even while i suck at them, and i usually wreck faces with carries too because people tend to not be able to farm or never get BkB. On my main account (1000+ games), it's the opposite, i can play support and i can count much more on my teammates even if the tier is the same, so i have better win ratio with supports than with midders or carries. It show how complicated the MM for a similar game have to be.

The tiers is are a bit vague. The current best way to check that I know of is if you go to watch live games tab and try find what tab your game is.
