If the enemies have no way of killing towers (which includes killing everyone of your team and right clicking them down,) and your team needs someone to pick up a lot of farm, it will work. 20 minutes of fairly uninterrupted farm on this hero is basically a free win.
you can get a linkins and a yasha or an ultimate orb in 20 mins, with those 2 items you still cant rly do anything if they decide to push

I honestly have no idea why anyone would want to play medusa that much though. What is so fun about 40 minutes of farm or lose. I mean, you can't even use chrono to stop your teammates from taking that 5 cs in mid

The aesthetics of that ability are awesome. That is something I think valve has done exceptionally well - make "big" abilities look, sound, and FEEL awesome. The first time I saw a DotA 2 Black Hole I actually said "holy shit" aloud. The aesthetics of some characters are probably enough to play them for exclusively that reason. See: PA

Of course there are going to be people who enjoy playing them. But compared to the hype, it's a very small percentage. People want to become ZSMJs now and when they realize that gorgon needs like 4 supports to sit right behind her 24/7 to be succesful then they will stop playing her as much.
95% of the medusa players just jumped on the hype bandwaggon and 5% who actually looked forward to the hero.

dusa's decently strong after just linkens manta or linkens skadi, it's just really hard to kill her
she's pretty good at splitpushing cus she clears waves crazy fast and she's pretty tanky
i like her she farms really fast
edit: u know why stuff like meepo, brood, am, slark, dusa, etc all have such a low winrate?
cus people play them wrong and actually try to teamfight, all you have to do is force tower trades and u win
slark's not that low cus he's invincible but still
