It was still harder because there was much higher variance in the pull-ability of the camp based on the creep types. Note that the video only shows the Banshee+Fel Hound and Kobold camp pulls for the easy camp, which are the more doable pulls. Pulling the Gnolls was a bitch in DotA 1.

Hadnt played dota since 2008 and just got into dota 2, after 50 games in dota2 I made it to the "high" bracket and am still winning most. Looking forward to hopefully breaking into very high eventually. I hope to one day win the lotto so i can just play all day

Randoming a carry so you can get stout, quelling and a bunch of regen and branches is beyond amazing. Zeus random is similar, bottle + clarities = zap zap zap on every creep death, enemy out of the lane 1-2 minutes in.
On the topic of frustration, tanky Void can pretty much take the cake. Max backtrack first (get all skills instead of stats though, you want to be annoying so bashes are important), rush vanguard and follow up with a sange -> halberd for more hp. Next up cuirass or heart, then the other one, satanic for late late game so you can leech back everything. Have fun right clicking people to death while they try to kill you slowly.

I hate void with a passion. Wish that dick would just vanish.

I'm pure skill ogre magi player.

QFT. Others may call him Ogre Magi, but I call him "Skill Mage" (okay I forget the "i", so sue me). Orb of venom also mandatory item on Skill Mage.
Edit: Forgot to mention, that hero has IMO the best voice lines in the game, bar none. So funny every time I play him.
|
If you don't have the best individual skill as a player, you might as well give up on ogre magi, so hard to play well.
Expertise! From the experts.
|
see the trick to playing ogre magi, is to completely remove luck from the equation. to do this, you have to turn your mic to open, and shout MULTI CAST DING DING DING DING every single time you want a multicast, ogre hears this and then does it for you.
|
Nono, the correct way to remove luck is to NOT GET ULTIMATE, buy Aghanims + refresher, and MAKE YOUR OWN 4X MULTICASTS.
Assuming you can get the unrefined fireblast with aghanims without ulti. I assume it works like tiny tree where the ultimate isn't required but I could obviously be wrong.
Also, Flavour text for his ultimate (according to dota2wiki): "Despite being largely incapacitated by his IQ, the Ogre Magi's success in battle is attributed to pure skill." :D
|
But you DO need ulti for tiny for the tree to work. You don't get the bonus range nor cleave despite having the tree if you don't have your ulti, last time i tried this anyway.
Yup just re-tested, you don't get any of the aghanim benefits without the ulti on tiny.
Edit2: Just tested, ogre will get the unrefined fireblast regardless of not having anything skilled.

Oh haha okay, I just say the cute gifs of him with aghs and no ulti and assumed it worked XD.
Also, Don't feel bad about picking and winning with AM. The last person who picked AM on my team went 1-17 T_T.

I confess, I'm comically bad at lasthitting with AM...

Who needs the rest of your statement? XD
Naw, my worst carry for lasthitting is probably Mirana. Screw that hero. As any carry though, I feel really bad when I miss any lasthits. Its like slapping your hardworking support in the face (assuming the lane is more or less uncontested). This is part of why I don't play carry much >.<
|
I'm pretty good at lasthitting with everyone except for AM, NS and DS. Worst being DS < AM < NS. It's really pretty awful... AM's animation is fast and his damage is ok, not too high. But his animation is so close to instant like snipers, but it's just a little slower so it's so hard to time for me
