I'm not sure how to word this better so I can find it on goggle, but so far my search results have yielded nothing. Like for example it's 5 minutes into the game you should be level X. I know there are many variables but there should be some sort of average level. I guess there would be an average if you too data from a lot of games but that kind of info is totaly usless, because it totaly depends what role you are playing, what kind of lanes you have, how the game is going, there is no standard

I know there are many variables but there should be some sort of average level. Not really much that can be said... stuff like "As anti-mage, if you have battlefury by 16 minutes, you're doing fine" is sort of useful, but it depends on the game. if you get freefarm and are good at farming, you should get it earlier... if you're forced to help your team, you should probably get other items before the battle fury and the timing aspect goes out the window immediately.. and that's just 1 hero in 2 different situations, it's too complex to make general guidelines. Specific heroes and specific situations is possible though, such as "Approximately when should I be able to solo Roshan as lycan" etc.

Just checked your most played hero and their winrate.

And he can't dominate the lane until he gets a handful of items, in which time the enemy team will dominate their lanes. Edit: he has the 3rd worst win rate, behind meepo and brood, the 10th worst kda ratio whatever that is, 8th worst in kills (everyone ahead of him is a healer, wisp, kotl, or enigma). Not concluding he has no chance of being competitive, but definitely not a pub hero. This patch Alch has bigger w/rate than Brood, Morph, Treant, AM. Bigger KDA than Ursa, Huskar, AM, Lyca, + Lion, Lina etc nukers. The thing is most people still play him wrong by maxing greed 1st. Alche stun (which is actually ridiculous) + any even somewhat decent laner will guarantee winning the lane.

Not really, maxing greed is normally the better way to go. Especially when we talk statistic, all carry items on Alch have a win rate of 60+%, all early game items have a winrate <50%. That early game alchemist is not really that good.

The list only has mostly carry items anyway. Getting 50cs @ 10 minute with alchemist without greed is the same as any other hero getting 50cs at that time. No need for goblins greed to get the extra 400g and it will NOT slow you down. I'm not saying it shouldn't be taken, I'm trying to say that maxing concotion is in most cases always better (plus the fact that it's pretty damn good now).

That is huge. Don't play alch as a ganker, when all his spells are either farming spells or scale extremly well with items

I was saying concotion will give you the lane dominance you need to get that farm. Especially in pubs.

Also if you win the game your bound to have completed one big ticket item because of tower gold, assists/kills etc, I don't think items w/l ratio have any merit whatsoever.

While I agree with carry alch, dotabuff item stats don't reflect how good an item is. If a player gets enough farm to get a radiance, they are more likely to win than if they didn't get enough farm. It's not that radiance is super duper fantastic, its just that if a player is good enough to get there they will probably be good enough to win. Same thing with refresher tide - a player that gets that fed is probably that fed for a reason. That's why aegis has such a high winrate - if you have it you are probably going to die defending (There is no point not to when they are attacking your ancient), and as such most of the time a player that has aegis will lose it before they lose the game, and as such that won't be recorded in dotabuffs stats. But yes, max greed is the way to go in competitive at least. You can argue that stun is better for pubstomping, but even better than that is picking NS/riki/ursa.

If you max greed as people want and get spray you will most likely lose to a decent lane. I'm talking about pubs of course.

This is atleast true for the items you buy at the end of the game, from tower/rax/hut gold you get as you end the game.. I often find myself finishing items right before the game ends even tho it had no actual effect on the game
