IRC chatter should remain in IRC - http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=tl.dota2

Posts that relate to topics with their own thread, such as in News, Tournaments or Strategy should go in those threads.

Exactly. Given the situation obviously, 3stun2greed/4stun3greed(or2 w/ ulti if u need it). Leveling one stun over greed as I said.

And skipping acid spray? That's the skill that makes him jump far ahead if he has a support stacking the jungle for him.

In which universe do you live that random people play decent support(not just pick support, but actually play) while you are alchi? I think I have seen it maybe 10% of the games and even then I wasn´t the only carry.
Especially the creep stacking part. Not every carry in pubs profits from stacked creeps, so it requires thinking and trust of the support player in you.
Sometimes when creeps are stacked I´m not even sure the stack was on purpose, or just someone got distracted while farming woodcreeps.
Overall I think it´s too rare to level acid spray to 4 early.

Don´t be afraid. Don´t you know you never get outplayed? It´s always your teams fault.
To determine whos fault exactly, here´s the priority list:
1. The one who criticises you
2. The one you saw noticed dying at least once
3. The first one to criticise anyone else
4. Mid player if he didn´t gank your lane once a minute
5. The fucking noob support who has no items
6. The guy with the worst k/d or least kills besides you.
If nobody hates you, you´re doing something wrong. However someone hating you doesn´t make you right

I would say
Rule nr 1: You got ganked? Check the minimap. Are there any wards?

If no, then you weren't out of position, you just have bad supports. Its their fault.

If yes, then its your whole teams fault for not being where the team fight happened.

It makes sense that people pick so badly when there are people who genuinely believe Alchemist is a pub stomp hero.

The zeroth law is that if a Pudge misses a hook he is the worst player in all of dota and is the sole reason for losing.

Why do teams make players play specific roles? For example, X player is always a jungler/support even though he's super good with some other specific hero?

Why don't teams organize their teams around heroes, instead of roles? Sure playing mid all the time gives you a different perspective, but you should be flexible in a game lik dota imo. There's a few exceptions of course, but the majority of the time players play heroes that are within their role.
You must gather your party before venturing forth.

Because roles are played with a certain mindset.
I can mostly relate to junglers, so I will share that point of view:
As jungler you need experience with jungling(which is different than being an experienced laner). Junglers are often able to gank either sidelane in the first 3 levels, can walk around the map more freely. I have a goal as jungler and have less interference from enemies reaching it.
Part is about planning around the creeps and time marks(x:51 for stacking, x:16 for pulling, x:00 for respawn of camps).

Supports are likely more concerned about harrassing and placing wards in the most awesome spots etc.

I do think it´s easier to play certain roles than play a mixed set of heroes with different roles.

I get severe fps drops constantly since the last patch. Really fucking annoying when trying to land any kind of skillshot or keep track of whats going on in a fight. I guess we're only 1 or 2 patches from me not being able to play this game at all by this rate.
I can't sing and I can't dance, but still I know how to clap my hands.

Really? I have probably the worst computer in the thread and play on all low yet my FPS has been going steadily up as the beta progresses....

Even without creep stacking acid spray is extremely strong in lane. Maxing acid spray with one point in greed and stun is the way to go imo. Do not underestimate the power of -armor.

I would like a comment system similar to what most poker softwares have, so you can scribble down a note or two on other players just as a reminder to yourself. "Played support well" "Very aggressive player" etc. All stored locally as simple text files only accessible by you.

Is this a bad idea?

Where the heck is the thread to suggest this to Valve?

That is literally one of the best suggestions I've heard in a long time, would be awesome as hell.

You can do this for steam friends atleast. On your friendslist there should be something called "give nickname" when you rightclick.

That's something completely different.

What he and I are referring to is somthing along of "click his picture" -> "get a little notepad like box dropping down" -> "what you write in there gets saved in a .txt that's tied to his steamname" and adds a little "this guy has a note"-icon.

Next time you see the person you see your little note icon, click his picture and see the notes you made last time.

so is sny situationally good now? I keep seeing people get it (even pros) on jugg and SF and a few others but it still seems too expensive and not worth it. Maybe it's just my biased brain not adapting to 6.75. What say you?

i posted this in the 6.75 thread but I dont think that thread gets much traffic anymore.
