He promised great things, only to go back on his word and disappear each time. He was a really dodgy figure that people grew to distrust greatly and so no one wants to use a term he came up with. Secondly, it barely describes Dota as a game. Multiplayer Online Battle Arena? Doesn't that describe almost every online game? Valve have written a short blurb on this but I cbf to find it. | ||

The term fits most multiplayer games involving fighting in a enclosed area. It's therefore not fit for purpose and shouldn't be used | ||

FPS is pretty specific but RTS is actually horrible, you can use strategy on almost every game and as long as it is not turn-based. | ||
