Valve tried to push for the word "ARTS" as something that's opposing the word moba to differentiate themselves from what else is out there. Then they realized the word moba is too much integrated into peoples head already so they adapted. At this point bashing the word for some ancient history doesn't make a whole lot of sense, it's here, it's accepted by the industry, deal with it. =P ALSO SERVERS QQQQQ | ||

Sooner or later people will adapt to this short acronym and in the end who cares anyways. i remember some nex wars and unit arenas in bw that were basicly dota, kill main building, improve units, get credits for killing. get angry over a weird genre name is beyond pointless. | ||

The term's purpose is so LoL and others could advertise themselves without referring to the original game, DotA never referred to itself as a "MOBA". Similarly, heroes were never referred to as "champions". | ||
