With the recent announcement of Clutch Cat's withdrawal from MLG, MLG has just announced that the newly formed Teamliquid squad will be replacing Clutch Cat at the MLG winter X Games in Aspen.
This team will have a tough road ahead as they are facing the top 2 teams in the world, Fnatic and LDLC and the north american powerhouse, CLG. Going into Group B on a sudden notice, this is the perfect chance for teamliquid to steal the thunder.
Teamliquid's roster coming in:
Damien “daps” Steele Jacob “FugLy” Medina Eric “adreN” Hoag Keith “NAF-FLY” Markovic Nick “nitr0″ Cannella

Cool! A extremely tough group, but it might be good preparation for Clutch Con.

I'm delighted for liquid to have this opportunity. Even if they come dead last (which seems pretty likely if we are honest with ourselves), the LAN experience should be good and if nothing else I get to watch more games of them

Lol adren is on stream doesn't even know he is going. Time to feature his stream, TL.

Yay! Good news Hope they can perform well against such a tough competition. It will certainly be very hard with so little preparation. Also props to Richard Lewis for an accurate report of this on DailyDot.

They're actually going to be against CLG. Cloud 9 is in Group A.

hmm good point well CLG are *probably* a lot more beatable than C9 at least

Very nice! A bit puzzled why Torqued was not chosen, but I guess I can't complain as I'm very happy TL gets a chance to compete.

Cause two of torqued's players were involved in the match throwing scandal.

Steel's also already booked in for observing for the entire event. I think it'd probably be a lot easier for TL to organize plane tickets than Torqued too.

Only one no? Steel.
But yea I thought about that. Still, I thought Steel was already going to MLG to be their observer, so they hired him anyway? Can't confirm this however.

Teamliquid was more available to be able to replace clutch cats then torqued is what im thinking. When you're hosting a LAN event of this scale and a team backs out, it's hard to find a replacement right away. It was probably easier for TL to make a last minute plane flight than it was for torqued even though steel is already flying in for observing

HOW ARE YOU SO FAST?!
It's awesome that TL.net is going!

Teamliquid to be the dark horse of this tourney, calling it now.

Should be good practice for the TL team. Gonna be a tough road though.

But then again this could produce very exciting matchs if they can pull off some wins.

I expect Liquid to go 0-3 and to scoop up Hiko after.
