LOL so true, i always thought this after all the koreans started showing up at foreign events. Idra thought he was going to come back from korea and win everything, but i dont think hes won a single event since he came back. (maybe something smaller?? but i dont even think so)

This actually frusterated me soo much, they should have had 2 showmatches or something , 1 of them with real korean pro's in a best of 5 , something intense. It seemed to draw way more fans that a GSL final , and it really didnt showcase the intensity of sc2, i fear alot of ppl will think that this is what sc2 is in korea and not want to come back, it wasnt very exciting thats for sure =( Ugh that really frusterated me it wasnt a good decision by gom to promote the GSL(and starcraft 2 in korea ) in this way, they really should have had another showmatch with 2 real progamers or something, or made sure yellow was willing to put in some time to practice when they asked him to do it. There is no way he played for momre than 20(if even that) or so hours over a month if hes still in gold league.

Something is funny when they go "DONGRAEGU! DONGRAEUGU! Kinda funny because that's exactly what's funny about Korean casters ![]()

- "Wow this is the first time I'm watching MLG... There's something about the foreign casters' voices that I like kekeke. Something is funny when they go "DONGRAEGU! DONGRAEUGU!" lol I think I should watch it more in the future." OMG lol, that's the best comment ever. Can't say I haven't thought the exact same thing listening to Korean casters watching BW replays lol

Yes. He's done well but probably not as well as he might have hoped, and hasn't won any of the large purses (NASL, Dreamhack, etc). Though he's looking good in IPL2 which has a pretty hefty prize. It's great that the passion of NA fans is being recognized. Maybe the worst players of the big 3 servers, but certainly the best fans :D

IPL season 1 was like the REAL North American (star)league. He still faced formidable opponents, but no Koreans aside from SeleCT (who doesn't train Korean style).

Maybe the worst players of the big 3 servers, but certainly the best fans :D Yeah but at the price of not getting Korean-level practice. Remember the good old days when Huk would 1 base 5 gate and would get crushed because IdrA was just so much better? Yeah they are no longer. People will start catching up. The reason IdrA was so good was because of his Korean practice. Now he practices less and it's with Incontrol. His decline is kinda inevitable, but I hope he does well. Prove me wrong Grack <3 There are really two ways this can go in the end. Korea out does the foreign scene and comes to all the tournaments and just takes everything, and it demotivates the players and we start exponentially losing out until SC2 becomes BW2. Or, Korea out does the foreign scene and comes to all the tournaments and just takes everything, and it motivates the players to practice harder and maybe even move out to Korea. On their way back, maybe become able to build the necessary infrastructure to sustain a competitive environment that can at the very least compete with Korea. SC2 is huge. It is much bigger than BW ever was. Before someone tells me it was a national sport in Korea, SC2 has become an online pastime in every other country. As awesome as Korea is, the future of SC2 is going to be global. If SC2 has to depend on Korea for survival, then we might as well call it dead now. But by this same token, no one wants to see poor play, and the game won't survive if the skill level does not noticeably increase over time (the rate of improvement in Korea is fine). So we need a Korea-like atmosphere anyway.
