MC really is sure of himself. That makes me feel a lot better after reading that thread about SC2 being too volatile, hopefully it's starting to stabilise and we may even soon see the emergence of our first bonjwa. not only our first bonjwa, but our first protoss bonjwa, no sc1 or sc2 protoss that made it to that status. Make me proud mc

Make me proud mc LoL, the poeple throwing around subjects like Bonjwa way to early. Players like Savior dominated the scene for about 10 month. MC didn't even dominate for one month. I read that quote, that MC want to be called Bonjwa in the future, it's ok if it's not the near future.

Even if he takes the TSL and WC he still wouldn't be a bonjwa but would be closer. Now if he does that and gets his 8 GSL championships (preferably in a row) then it is probably ok to use the term ![]()

He loses to things he doesnt expect(the hydra drop). Like him and MVP, unorthodox play seems to get the best of them.

Oh well, I was pulling for July, but his time will come in July, as it was in Brood War

He might seem invincible now, but FruitDealer, Nestea, MarineKing & Mvp seemed invincible too at some point.. even a nerf or buff to the race could make a difference (who can be sure the game is 100% balanced right now..)

I'm confused because I'm looking at SAviOr's liquipedia entry (never followed BW unfortunately) and under his accomplishment's list, it seems like his largest period of dominance was in 2006 - but even then, he didn't win everything - he got three golds and a silver. In other words, are you allowed to get 2nd, or even 3rd at some point in a year, and as long as you win most everything else in that timeframe, could you still be called a Bonjwa? Give up now, there's honestly no rhyme or reason to it. It's just a popularity contest. Example, going by win-loss Boxer best year 2001, netted 73.68%, compared to Jaedong's entire career straight up netting 68.34%. Yet boxer is always listed as bonjwa and Jaedong isn't. Nerd rage passing. Given the quicker tournament turnover in SC2 compared to SC1, I think it is going to be harder to declare a bonjwa at all. I mean could even MC win 10 of 12 of these tournaments in a year? Whereas OSL MSL together only produce 6 a year.

The first Bonjwa who was called was Savior. If I remember right, he didn't lose a single Best of Series for about 10 month. Also he dominated the Proleague in this time. It was simply rare to see him lose. Nada, oov and Boxer are belated called Bonjwa (imho, I'm not 100% sure about that). Jaedong also was very close to be called Bonjwa but Flash disrupted it all. : / @Holyarrow: Note, that BW Tourneys like MSL/OSL goes for like 6 month instead of just one.
