No offense to Euros who do understand this, but all offense intended to euros who accuse me of lagging because it could'nt possibly be them because of their gosu internet connections . It's the speed of light not being fast enough ok? We are both lagging.
protip: 99% of people who play starcraft have a good enough internet to run it extremely fast. There isn't much difference in running starcraft on a 56k than running it on the fastest internet you could possibly imagine. Why? because 56k is about the maximum requirements for playing starcraft. (I myself run it on 7.5mbps which is about 100 times what i need for starcraft.)
The reason why you lag on iccup is because of these possible reasons. A) the distance between the places you two are playing. B) One of you is downloading other crap on bittorrent or whatever which is using up all your internet because your too dumb to put a dl cap on it.
When i play australians/other new zealanders there is zero lag. When i play Koreans sometimes there is a little bit of lag When i play Americans sometimes there is a little bit of lag. When i play Europeans there is lag.
Lag or high ping will always be present when playing someone from more than about 8,000km away no matter how fast your connection is.
Hmm.... Australia is like 15000-20000 km max away from europe? and speed of light is 300000km/s so thats makes it like 0.0666 sec( this is considering its 20000km ) delay is that even gonna make a difference??? I think not something is wrong generaly with your country internet. Just an example i play koreans with hell ass lag and koreans with 0 lag games and when i play with chinese players i always get utter shit lag games and china is closer to europe then korea is so no big distance is not the case in lag games you got with other countries.
ah it doesn't actually travel at the speed of light through the cables, but at percentage of that. There are other factors as well as other people have mentioned.

You can try op tl-west on US west. But once you get in shape again you should just go to iccup.com and dl their launcher to play competitive bw :p

I usually do not look at replays but rather watch them live! through afreeca player. i think the website is afreeca.com. a good number of A level players show live streams of them playing on iccup. i am actually watching one of them right now ^^
