My friend's uncle says its being released two months ago.

Good thread. It does allow for some rampant speculation.
Personally, I think the December 3rd deadline is unrealistic. The engine is solid, that's for sure, which means that Blizzard is moving into the very final stages of production. However, Blizzard is very keen on ensuring a full package, so I wouldn't be holding my breath on anything before May 09 (which after delays means Christmas 09)

two months ago?... damn i missed it?

Well I'll be waiting patiently along with my 8-10 year relationship with my fellow clan mates...Until then gNs.I Fighting!!

I'm pretty sure it won't be the 3rd. I think the game has A LOT of work to be done balance wise/unit wise. Anyways, most companies would simply pack the game how it is now (b/c it LOOKS pretty good) however, im hoping blizz plucks out all fo the horrible imbalanced factors. Which probably will take much longer!

This happens all the time with wow. And each and every time, its just a crappy estimate made by some guy working at whatever.
If blizzard decides to announce a release date, we will know about it right away. Everything else is just speculations and a waste of time.

I don't see why the release date is such a big thing? Of course i'd like to play sc2, but ill just wait till it comes out. And the longer they take, the more time they have to perfect it. Finding out the new project by blizzard is much more interesting.
|
The annoying thing for me is that I want to buy a PC right now, but I'm afraid to waste my money on a computer that won't run SC2 perfectly. (8800 GT...)

You've played the retail version? Please, tell us more!

Sadly, we cannot be sure when it comes out, just like the experts are saying, we have to wait for Blizzard to say so. Until then we can just keep biting our nails, when i saw the stores say Feb 09 i was up on the ceiling with excitement, however now i'm just patiently waiting and biding my cash to get the graphics/RAM for the job, i don't care if i'm playing on med/low, as long as i'm playing it.

Is there a ranking system that exists on the site for how epic a bump is?

Safe bump tho, since we now know the friends & family beta has started. It usually goes like that at Blizzard.
Closed Beta Friends & Family (All the Blizzard employees) Open Beta Various modifications Release.
With 2 betas still running and the time needed to make the modifications from these tests, assuming SC2 to be released in 8 to 10 months in a safe bet.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that they're aiming to release next year October/November, which puts them finalizing the disk at something like September/November. This means that they announce the release date at either e3 or blizzcon, and more likely the latter than the former.
