Anyway, that tournament is different from this one in many ways, no point in comparing the two. no, i'm not jelly why ppl always go there? \i just think it's pretty ridicolous that one of the biggest BW LANs ever, and in 2019 AND the one that literally pays people from around the world to get there (guys from NA too, and he didn't have to do it at all.. he just cares and loves BW) can't raise 5000k $ in couple of months and some random ass NY LAN for, let's be honest, mediocre players raised almost 2k$ in couple of weeks I just find this hilariously ridiculous. And yeah, it would be cool if you guys chipped in for the whole community too. I'm not saying you have to, but it would be a cool move and good for the foreign BW overall. Meanwhile NY LAN is only good for NA people that can actually afford to go there or live close enough that's all i'm saying. Don't get your panties in a bunch, bro Have fun

Don't get your panties in a bunch, bro Have fun What's ridiculous is that you're essentially badmouthing another event that is taking place. All events are good for the community. The two have different audiences, and the two have different meanings. People are donating to this because it's what they want to donate to. People may like this NY LAN more than they like Corrupted Cup, and that's their opinion. I also like NY LAN more than Corrupted Cup - and so I'll support it. I assume that's the same for many others and how we've reached 2k in donations. This NYC LAN is important to people in this specific community. And even if they're "mediocre" players, so what? Lesser skilled players aren't allowed to donate and have their own fun? Be more open minded. Anyways, there's no point to compare it - both are good tournaments and both do justice for our community. The comments you're making create a divide. Let's just be happy that tournaments are getting greater than 1k prize pools. That is the step the entire community would like to see, I'm sure. Also, since you want to be so blunt, It should be NO surprise to you that people in NA generally have higher salaries and a higher cost of living than most European countries. Economically speaking, raising 2k here isn't the same as Europeans raising 2k. Just like raising 2k here would not be the same as raising 2k in South America. If you want to get technical, the socioeconomic perspective ties into what you see as the donation pool and how quickly we're able to do it. You should go study general salaries by region, cost of living, and then you may better understand this whole concept, instead of coming here saying it's ridiculous that people in the NYC area raised this money (this prize pool isn't even equivalent to the average 1 month rent in NYC). None of this is "hilariously ridiculous" as you put it. People will donate where THEY want to donate. It's their money, not yours. And it's not your decision to say where people put their money. If you like Corrupted Cup so much, go support it. I think that's great if you want to do it. So, shall we go back to talking about the NYC LAN instead of bickering about prize pools and comparing it to other tournaments?

If all weighted community impact and donated Corrupted Cup only, the BW community would have been nothing more but a religious sect. To the contrary, making possible the sunrise elsewhere is a sign of a mature community.

My suggestion: donate it to Corrupted Cup. I provided them with information about the tournament, including a link to the thread, the Liquipedia page, the Matcherino page, and the introductory video on YouTube. I provided them with positive feedback about my experience in dealing with eSport.fund and Rus_Brain, as well as an elaboration as to why I think this is a worthwhile venture to donate to. So, Mr. M3t4PhYzX, please be a little more mindful before aggressively voicing negative opinions based on limited information and potentially biased perspectives

If you are among the people that signed up AFTER the deadline (September 19th), please try to come EARLY (11-11:30) so you can have the best chance at getting yourself a spot.
