Welcome to The Hot Seat, a King of the Hill showmatch series hosted by JoRoSaR and facilitated by DingIt.
Each week we will be inviting players to compete in a Best-of-9, winner-takes-all for a showmatch that results in the winners building a bounty and playing for a larger prize pool the next time around!
Team Liquid's Bunny defends his title against ROOT Gaming's Hydra!
Date: Friday, 05/Jun/2015 Time: 20:00 CEST (Converted to your local timezone: 18:00 GMT (+00:00))
The main English stream will be live on Dingit with JoRoSaR
The format is Bo9. The map list is as follows:
Coda LE Echo LE Expedition Lost Vaani Research Station Cactus Valley LE Inferno Pools Iron Fortress LE
Game 1: Starting map decided by vetoes (coinflip to determine who vetoes first).
Games 2-7: Loser of the previous game picks from remaining maps in the map pool.
Games 8-9: If there is a Game 8 (i.e. score is 4-3), a new round of map vetoes begins. The player who vetoed second before the start of the showmatch, vetoes first this time. We veto down to 3 maps. Player on the lower score picks the map for Game 8. If there is a game 9, the losing player picks between the two remaining maps.
Example: Score is PartinG 3-4 Life and the 3 maps after Game 8 vetoes are Code, Echo & Iron Fortress...PartinG picks Echo for Game 8, and if there is a Game 9, Life can choose between Coda & Iron Fortress.
The above rule allows for players to focus on the maps they are most familiar with, when the match gets down to the final few all-important games.
Our showmatch series starts at a bounty of $150. The winner stays on to play next week, and $75 gets added to the bounty next time around. If a challenger defeats the King of the Hill, they take that player's bounty and start from $150 the following week as they begin to build a bounty of their own!
If Hydra wins, he claims the bounty of $375 on Bunny, and next week plays for $150 as he attempts to build a bounty of his own.
If Bunny wins, he takes home $375 and his bounty stays at the maximum for our next challenger!
The prize fund each week is (currently) capped at a maximum of $375 (four wins), but may increase in the future.

Bunny 4-3. It's still Bo9 so it doesn't end at 4. That Bo69 scarred you apparently.
This is just a few weeks before their match in WCS, I'm curious how much they'll show each other.

Nah 6-0 for Bunny definitely.

I'm really surprised they agreed to do this considering they're in the same group in WCS.

Hydra should just drone rush on Echo, it works too well against Bunny.
|
Holy crap, they just brought the big guns! This is going to be a showdown of epic proportions. I wonder if it was Hydra who had the initiative to take Bunny in this Bo9, so that it plays an important role mentally in their next match in WCS if he defeats Bunny... I wonder.

Where can I catch the VOD... sadly my GF wants to hang out on Friday.. ugh.

Hmmm... I feel like every series should just be a Bo69 now.

They're in the same group for WCS. I'm sure the games won't be too crazy.
I say Hydra 5-3

Having never used dingit but heard of the fact that it requires a plugin i am slightly concerned but really want to watch this series. Can anyone give me an idea of how reliable this is and if anyone has had "problems" with it? Thanks all :D

It is perfectly reliable, seen all the matches sofar

Conflicted feelings about this. I want bunny to win but I don't want him to reveal too much of his play.
Edit: Fuck it. Bunny should go all out. Its useless to worry about your play being revealed when you've already played a best of 69.

Your poor girlfriend, getting trumped by a man's desire to watch his showmatches live.
After 4 years of watching SCII, I honestly prefer vods at this point. Theres just too much downtime. so many breaks between games, and games themselves often dont pick up for the first 5 minutes. Vods allow you to skip everything tedious

I'd watch it but I just can't dingit. there's something fundamentally wrong needing to dl some 3rd party app in order to watch a stream. The browser of your choosing and an internet connection is all what you should need.

Whoa, the framerates are extra low, like it's 15 fps or something.
