I haven't seen a thread about this topic yet. As "popular" as he has become and the fact that he's a featured streamer I wanted to see the response from the TeamLiquid community about this reddit post essentially proving Winter uses viewbots.
http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/2yz0kv/wintergaming_uses_viewbots_heres_the_evidence/
Within there is a pretty incriminating reply that one of the Reddit users saved after Winter himself deleted the comment. It appears as an attempt to save face on the issue by claiming ignorance and passing blame to other Twitch users for the viewbots

This thread ain't going to turn well.

im sorry what are viewbots? are those the things where you give yourself more viewers, more viewers = more money??

Reddit will find any excuse to hate Winter. They're not really the best source of info.

didnt twitch themselves look into Winter and say that he is fine, and then back him up with sponsorships and stuff?
Winter is the best streamer, most educational even when smurfing and beating bronzes...its no wonder hes the top viewed streamer above even korean pros

Before any blanket statements like this are taken seriously I would suggest reading the information first.

Well, if it's true then he's pretty much done. I tuned into his stream a few times, mostly he was playing against lower level players. Not exactly the kind of content I personally want to see when I watch an SC2 stream. Generally, viewbotting can be a huge pain in the ass for the whole streaming industry (which is pretty much twitch at this point.) I wonder what twitch is going to do about viewbotting if it really is that rampant as the reddit thread suggests.
But I don't want to judge Winter for anything that hasn't been proven completely.

He's a featured streamer on TeamLiquid. I would think if any website warranted the discussion on whether or not there's merit to this it would certainly be here

I always defended him cause i thought twitch wouldn't have made a premium partnership with him if he would viewbot. But there is really strong evidence now, so yeah. It raises new questions though: Does twitch really not care?

Your OP is just a link? Either you need to write up/ paste some extensive stuff, or most people are going to write this off as an arbitrary attack/ low content post, I think.

No, viewbots don't give any ad revenue. The point of viewbotting is to get yourself higher on the list of streamers and therefore get more visibility.
It is more money indirectly, at least in theory.

One weird thing is that once week ago he had 7 viewers and 2 minutes later, he had 500. Might be bug but that is weird
|
it was always obvious that his viewers aren't real, the only question is if he botted himself or another person viewbotted him.

like if I give a shit about some guy viewbotting and want to go call him a douche then I know where to go, but I don't want that shit here.
