Problems with that are A) disadvantage on spells in Melee range. I'm not about to start going battlemage B) even if I start taking feats and stuff I'm not likely to be able to tank effectively enough.
It would definitely fit with my Yolo style if I could eat more damage and stuff though. Well the disadvantage only happens if you are doing ranged spell attacks, saving throw based spells are fine. as are stuff like the thunderclap cantrip or arms of hadar, which exist as a melee spellcasting ability.
though yeah at lvl 4 you could actually "respec" in a way as a warlock to a more front line type character, rather easily actually.

That's still a few levels away though. a few? the first warloick polymorph is a lvl 9 spell, and only once per long rest.

I think if I'm going to do a big read/excel spreadsheet for myself tonight I may not need as much help as usual. We'll see where this is headed.
And PX yeah that's kind of an issue since eldritch blast is my number 2 fallback spell right now

Don't have PHB on me right now so I can't check.

Yeah warlocks get up to 5th level spells normally, but no polymorph on the spell list.

Maybe I just glanced over the list when I was tired and mixed it up with the Wizard or Sorcerer lists at some point. It seemed really out of place, so that's probably what happened.

That's pretty helpful. I haven't been going strictly with what is 'best' though as I'm a pretty flavour-conscious guy.
