about 13, roughly equivalent to 31 points of pointbuy

You only have one result at average and one max (and another near). I've had good results like that on characters before, but stuff like that is why my DM always watches our rolls.

Generally its better to pick your class/background equipment allocation. Which will give you 1) a pack (dungeneers/explorers etc) 2) Weapons/Armor that you can use of decent quality (so leather for rangers, chainmail for fighters, simple/martial weapons) which if you were to purchase separately would run your entire gold supply 3) 10 ish gold, enough to buy only the most simple of tools. Highest you can get is 25 gold, which doesn't buy much. 4) A set of relevant tools (sometimes) Oh whoops, forgot it was one or the other, removing GP now >.>

You rolled 16,16,14,11,11,10
You're average for the highest score, above average for the second highest score, above average for the third highest score, slightly below average for the fourth, average for the fifth and above average for the 6th. Those are killer values.
Edit: For instance, my character with your rolls would be
Str: 17 Dex 12 Con 17 Int 12 Wis 15 Cha 12
though I get the advantage of being human in that. it would give me at least 1 extra feat due to the bonus stats. Possibly two or more

it's a bit higher than that
11/12

Average of 4d6 drop lowest is more than 3d6. The actual average is like 12.5 but i figured after posting that, that the mode was a more reasonable representation.

In practicality, 4d6 drop lowest is higher. But I'm too used to talking average rolls for 40k via math.

oh sick! I guess I had nothing to feel bad about. I didn't check out your guys characters till now but your allotment seems smart Goumindong with no 0 mods unlike my feelingly "unlucky" three but whoa Gahlo got lucky.
I hate my 11 rolls
oh nvm Goumindong I see that you will in fact have 0 mods after those corrections your mentioned.

No. If you're talking math, the average of 4d6 drop lowest is explicitly 12.24 and the average of 3d6 is explicitly 10.5. They are different distributions they have different means, medians, modes, standard deviations, and skewness.

Ouch. I guess I should do math before I type.

The 11 rolls aren't that bad. You won't use your off stats that much except for some uncommon saves. Since abilities peak at 20 and you have high overall stats you will have an easy to taking feats instead of +stat upgrades or putting points into feats like Resilience(which would take your wisdom to 18 and give you proficiency on the saves, or take con to 15 and similar). Your high overall stats means you won't have much of a problem dipping into feats(if feats are allowed). Once you get playing you won't sweat your 11's.
ed: For instance if i were to roll i would likely get.
STR 17, DEX 12, CON 14, INT 12, WIS 14, CHA 12 (note rolls on IC are raw, not including +1 for human)
Invisiblecastle.com is really nice for recording rolls (for instance you could check to make sure that i didn't fudge that by recording rolls by character or looking at a persons rolls. Not usually necessary for anything but PBP but its still handy)

Actually looking at other numbers mine aren't any more batshit insane than anyone else's once averages are taken into account it seems.

In my opinion, characters with low stats are far more interesting than those with high stats.
I'm sure there's a point where it just becomes frustrating because you're highly ineffective (but that's a LOW point), but boy does it make for really interesting RP.
Not that I dislike high-stat characters, but when you have obvious in-game flaws, the ways you play around them are very intriguing.
Edit: ALSO, of the applicants, I'm only missing those from the following:
Wave, Celial, Holyflare, and JonGalt (plus any last minute MYSTERY APPLICANTS )
Get 'em in! :D

but gahlo and wave will be the real huge monsters I understand.

The bolded should be relevant to me in a kind of backward way I think, as Asmo knows.

It's basically done, but i was at home taking care of my recovering son all day, so haven't had much time to put the finishing touches on things. Have about another paragraph or two maybe, and some physical description. Will 100% be in before deadline (but not likely much before lololol). I'm a procrastinator by nature, Req. Sue me.

as well:
Ghalo/ComaDose what the fuck is up with your attributes? 17 (15+2) is the highest ability score its even possible to have with point buy. Ghalo, you have, what would likely be 66 points (assumed 16 is 3, 17 is 3, 18 is 4 based on the table which doesn't go above 15) out of an allotted 27. Coma you aren't quite as bad with 39 of 27 but lord, your characters are ridiculous.
That being said, i appear to have made a mistake on my PB, i am over by a few points. My int and cha should be 10, i forgot to change them when editing my stats the last time. 18 is the highest from roll, 6 + 6 + 6 + lowest. I rolled EXTREMELY well into 18/17/15/15/15/12. I had checked with Asmo weeks ago to see if he wanted me to reroll it or something, he said I could run with it. If I'm selected and it proves to be an issue or people have an issue with being out stated, it's not something I'm against changing. On my own volition I'm keeping it, because characters I've made in the past have rolled really poorly(some times having multiple sub 10s) and I want to make use of a good character generation for once. As a final note: Keep in mind that my racials are bumping an 18 to a 19 and a 15 to a 17.

Yes I accounted for that when calculating your point buy equivalent.
|
I know I won't have the motivation or attention span to keep this up weekly, but it still looks pretty fun. Is there a way to contribute from time to time without being a player?
|
I think it would be very cool if the people who don't make it in can have some cameo NPC appearances or something
