The people at Zombie Squad don't actually believe in zombies. It is really a disaster preparedness/survivalist site that uses a zombie theme to keep things fun and interesting. The money they raise doesn't go into their pockets but to charity and to keep the website up. They organize many events, such as Zombie Movie Nights, to raise money for charity and help promote disaster preparedness. If you're not into zombies, you can check out the American Red Cross website for more information on getting prepared for realistic disasters. I'd like to second what Quazi said- we do not believe that zombies exist. My personal standpoint- that anything can exist until proven that it can't- is an attitude that many would do well to keep in mind- specifically if any of you have any desire to make anything even slightly easier for mankind in the long run. Regarding zombies, though, take the entire situation into consideration before you make any claims to our sanity. Such a thing would cover: Social breakdown. Loss of power. Loss of running water. Loss of communications. Collapsing infrastructure. Riots. Quarantine of hazardous agent, and survival in that quarantine zone if you weren't able to escape. The list goes on. I'm digressing, though- back on topic. Before you actually attempt to judge Zombie Squad, please take a look at the other functions we perform. Contingency planning for any given situation. Charity relief and fundraisers. A relaxed, open atmosphere, so long as you follow the handful of rules in effect. As for whoever claims that it's a "bad thing" that our forum member- whom I'll elect to leave anonymous- is introducing his child to firearms at a young age, please keep this in mind. Would you trust someone who has had no firearms experience with a handgun, or someone who's been instructed in its proper use all their life? (No, first-person shooters do not count as firearms experience.) If you visit our site objectively, and stop forming preconceived notions about our members and our function, you may find yourselves learning something. Hell, I'm one of the friendlier members on there most of the time, but I'm also extremely loyal to anything I agree with- and extremely territorial as a result. Couple hundred can be dealt with 40 or so men who are well armed and can hold a position. | ||

I have seen neither the paranoia nor the mania to which you are referring. Please give the basis for your diagnosis. If you know of anyone on the site owning hand grenades please enlighten us about that as well. The site is very clear about not allowing the discussion of illegal activities and will quickly ban individuals that post on such. contingency plan, what about planning for a more realistic scenario like "my wife hates me because ive spent all our savings in a bunker", or "omfg my child grabbed my desert eagle and shot his little sister!". As to planning on a more realistic scenario, many of the discussions are on disasters far short of zombies. There are discussions of terrorist attacks, trains carrying toxic chemicals derailment, civil strife, and the mundane such as a mugging. Try not to worry about people’s marriages. There are many wives who are members and people that would spend their life savings on a bomb shelter are probably the same ones that would have spent their life savings on that uber character on eBay anyway. By allowing children at an early age to see that a firearm is just a tool and that there is nothing mystifying about it the children will not have the strong desire to play with them. It is called being a responsible parent. Zombies or not most of those guys clearly suffer from slight to severe paranoia... its scary they are heavily armed. Again I don’t see why you are making a diagnosis from reading a post but I am sure you have more than my BS in psychology so you are much better prepared to make such a judgment. | ||

Why do you guys spend all this money/energy on preparing for the world to go to shit Why not spend that money/energy on raising the quality of the world. why make bomb shelters when there are Homeless Why stock food when there are hungry people everywhere. | ||

Yes that a parent would bring a weapon into the house and not train everyone there is sickening. Here is link on the matter If a person owns a firearm they must be responsible, it really is that simple. I am much more comfortable with a person being around firearms everyday and taught their safe use than having loaded and unsecured firearms sitting where the children or their friends will find them. | ||
