Arf, that's bad news!

I know quite a few physically handicapped people. Once they put everything in perspective and deal with the emotional damage (this blow will come, later it seems), they live a happy life. So unfortunate though, so damn unfortunate.

We don't know each other, but I just wanted to chip in with everyone else who has written condolences and say that I am truly sorry for what happened. Sometimes life throws crazy things our way, and there's nothing we can do but take it as it comes and do our best to carry on. I hate how such terrible things can happen to people so undeserving of them. I just want to echo what so many others have said and tell you, please, do not give up hope. You will walk again, and that's going to be a really amazing day. I would wish you luck, but I don't think you will need it.

In summary. Don't give up hope. Also, Doctors ALWAYS give you pretty much the worst case scenerio. Not the one they feel is most likely. They really don't want to come back to someone and say "Oh, you know how i said you be walking again? Nevermind tee-hee. Here is a wheel-chair mag, i circled the ones your insurance covers for ya. How about that darn weather today?"

Now, lets all unite and play a FF Iron man this weekend and pray for zias knee as we shatter Kheffkas with the pearl lance and ragnorok or illumina if you perfer.

Even though it doesnt feel like it yet this feels so much worse compared to steve irwins death. Hit twice by a car collision.......... It's a lot to go through one collision and to double that.... no words. ZIA my fellow og I will indeed pray for you tonight. I'm sorry you had such bad fate but it does happen to the best of us. Zia your like hte big sister i've never had. All i can say is live life to the fullest and find peace with it. Appreciate you telling us that. Dunno what else to say, you will survive!

Holy Jiminy Christmas Zia. I'm really pulling for you, for what that's worth to you. You're one of the key members of our community, so you can imagine that this has a profound impact on all of us (I believe that's safe for me to assume). Best wishes be with you, I'm sure you know better than any of us that it's going to be difficult but hopefully not impossible to recover. There is still a lot we humans don't know about the mysterious healing powers of the body, how sometimes miraculous recovery occurs. I'm really hoping something like that happens for you - in the meantime, try your best to challenge yourself and remain active. You're a very strong young woman, Zia, and from what admittedly little I know of you from this forum, you wouldn't let even the most major and serious injury slow you down or prevent you from living the life you're used to. Best of luck to you. We love you.

This happened to one of my cousin, very similar, totally fucked up her knees, and it was believed she would never walk again. Sure it did take a long time and many surgeries, and even some new technology, but she finally made it and can walk again. Although not the same as before, its good she defied the oods and can at least move around.

Maybe you can be the same. If you believe enough in yourself and have determination nearly anything can be possible.
