One of EG's founding StarCraft members. EG was a great team, but maybe there are better things in store for both him and EG. Although unfortunately many people will wrongly see it as "lol about time he got cut."

I mean given the amount of players in EG I wouldn't be surprised if he could find another offer that works better for him. Maybe not just money wise, but gives him different opportunities?

Wish him the best of luck ![]() Not trying to be mean here but this was before the fungal change and when zerg was very very dominant toward the end of 2012 anyways. It sad but Lz just felt like a patch zerg, as much as I hate to use that term, to me. Lz just seems very out of place in EG considering alot of the EG people are setting their eyes on korea and he is never shown in any of the videos or was even in the team house. I think this is a good change for him and hope him for the best in the future.

iNcontroL will never leave EG. I think the best move for him is to resign as a player, and become some sort of coach or commentator and a spokesperson for EG. However, I don't see him resigning as a player because he does a lot of coaching which is really profitable for him. I think that if he retires - he will lose a lot of his coaching potential ( I don't think many people would like to be coached by someone retired as a player). I do have respect for iNcontroL, and the respect will be greater when he retires as a player ![]() I think it is a little comical that LzGamer says that he leaves by his own choice (Unless he has personal life issues he needs to fix... if it is that, then I am sorry for what I said) I doubt any team would like to acquire him, will he retire from sc2, or try a fresh start with HotS... I don't think so I also don't know what future there is for the teamhouse in Arizona... It is interesting what will happen with it. I don't think they will keep it for very long, unless it houses LoL or Dota2 EG players. Btw - a little off topic, but I think we need some more EG or (EG-TL) coverage on what's happening with the players, interviews and teamhouse atmosphere. There used to be a lot more of that in the past

Given the business model from EG, this move doesn't surprise me. He barely joined EG in meaningful tournament and his results have not been up to the teams standards. He's a cool guy. He'll land on his feet.

both seem very unlikely.. a quote from liquipedia: " On April 12, the team Evil Geniuses officially announced a StarCraft division.[1] The initial roster consisted of iNcontroL, Nyoken, Machine, LzGaMeR, and G5." Seems unlikely that they would scratch a founding member from their roster without an extremely good reason, no tournament success not being one of them imo.

His words: "My contract expired. EG offered me a new one. I declined." He also stated that he isn't leaving ESPORTS and there is no bad blood. Hope to see him on a new team soon!

He seemed relieved to be able to say his skype name and have people add him if they want coaching, rather than having to sneak around and do it covertly through emails because of the Raidcall sponsorship :D I wonder how many in EG actually use raidcall on a regular basis. Their dota2 squad seems to primarily use skype for example.

And that essentially kills all the drama that could have resulted from this. That is so bizarre. EG is one of the best known, and best paying teams. Maybe he didn't like the atmosphere? But he said there is no bad blood. I'm pretty sure EG works with many types of games, so I can't see him switching to a new game. To be honest I think LZGamer was in an incredibly good position considering his results over the past few years, and TO STILL BE OFFERED a contract is just amazing to me. Many pro-gamers playing SC2 would dream to be payed by EG and make it into a big name team, having the same results LZGamer has. I think maybe, the only explanation I can think of, is that he was a bit embarrassed to be on such a big team but not really be contributing. So he felt like he didn't belong, or didn't deserve to be there? Well in any case don't want to be too negative. I hope whatever he does he finds his passion and has a happy life ![]()

I think he is a very respectable guy both in and out of game, and like Sheth, is one of the personalities that I want to emulate when I meet new people or introduce more people into eSports. He is a super nice and friendly guy. He is really down to earth, but still has strict standards of conduct for himself. I have never heard him curse or talk badly about another person in his entire CAREER. When is the last time ANYONE had beef with him? Or you heard him talking badly on anyone else? The drama, while it actually does get select players attention, it should not be the attention that people strive to receive. And I think that this is Lz's curse and his blessing at the same time. Because a lot of people LOVE the drama and the handful of individuals it is usually revolving around. IDK EG, is turning into more of a Korean team than a foreign team anyways. JD, Puma, JYP, Revival. They have Idra (who is a korean trained player, and since he has left Korea has never been even close performance wise to where he was when he was living there) Huk, who is living and playing in Korea. Stephano, Thorzain, and Suppy tho, are their three notable non-koreanpickups, None of whom live in the EG house. (Two of whom spend as much time in Korea, if not more, than they do in the EG house, the 3rd who doesnt live in the EG house either) Demuslim has also shown the ability to be a top level contender when he is focused. I am a GIANT fan of iNcontroL as a personality and caster. And I think Machine is another AWSOME person, but in all honesty his entire SC2 career has been based off of his past BW career. If he wasnt on EG at release, he wouldn't be currently. EG has been slowly expanding their SC2 Korean squad, and when Kespa players become more accessible as far as contracts/trading goes, we will prob see an even more Korean based EG squad. (Not that i blame them... lets be real how many tournaments have foreigners won in a long time where Koreans were present) Meh ive gotten WWAAAYYY off on this tangent haha sry. Anyways, big fan, still am, and will be. Will undoubtedly still be clicking on that stream whenever I see it up.

Well, Demuslim is undoubtedly one of the better terrans the non-Korean scene has at the moment, which, sadly, doesn't account for much, seeing only 8 terrans in the top 40 ranking of non-Korean players on aligulac (4 of them being place 36, place 37, place 38 and place 39). Besides, in espots outside Korea, skill is probably not the only thing that decides whether you are on a wealthy team or not. Heck, it might not even be the thing that matters most. In fact, I think this is one of the hurdles the scene must overcome for it even to have the chance of be recognized as a full-fledged sport. edit: anyways, gl to lz. I hope he will find a good team soon!

Barely hanging in NA Grandmaster is not "competitive" for a full time progamer. And by that I mean that it doesn't warrant a salary, imo. If he's not paid, then my bad, but he's still living in a nice house and being given food, I would assume (meme reference not intended). I can't say you're wrong about Demuslim and Incontrol. Being one of the absolut best foreign terrans doesn't mean anything, he's still not really good, compared to some other players EG has. I agree with Incontrol, he sure is important for the team, but not as a player. Now we come to Machine: How is he even close to marketable or competitive? He's barely in GM on the NA server, which means around high masters on EU, that's not very impressive for a full-time, well-paid progamer that can practice with the best of the best all the time.

He makes good commercials not everyone is good in front of a camera. I would think they are keeping him around just for marketing purposes since everyone else is training and going to tourneys while he makes sure that the EG brand is out there by making extra content.

Can you stop to say "fire this player, because he is bad"?! because this make no sense! Look here: Flash, Jaedong, Bisu, Rain are playing for your team, the weakest player will be "bashed" every time from the community if we talk about player add and outs about your team.

I'm not hating on him, he's probably a coold dude, but I don't see how is he helping the team at all, the last time I saw him the last 6 months was in an EG advertisment

He streams alot and more often than not get alot of vievers, who knows he maybe doesnt get paid alot so what does eg lose by having in the team?

I agree about LZ and Machine. They bring nothing to the table for EG. Demuslim though is a decent player. And people really like him. Incontrol, though a terrible player, is a big personality and I think has done more for getting EG's name out there than some of their top players.

I already corrected myself about the incontrol part, he sure is a great help for the team, but not as a progamer. Demuslim is still bad, being one of the best foreign terrans, again, does not mean anything. Oh, Machine is nice, ok, let's double his salary. If i make a team out of the nicest gold players ever, and i pay them thousands of dollars per month, i'm gonna have a great team, right? He does not serve any purpose for the team, therefore dropping him should be the best solution.

With HotS coming out, if you weren't that great at WoL, why would you want to be paid based on that if you felt you could manage to get a lot better results in HotS? I'm sure in a game where bl/infestor isn't the obvious answer, that a creative player can only fare better. GL to him. As for the viewer comments, I have to disagree. Known people will find a way to get views. Simply being on EG makes it hard to not get at least the views that LZ and Machine get. All you have to do is look at the bump that players like Suppy got. If Sterling can get 100+ viewers at times, yet no one at all knows him, relatively speaking, and his stream is good, then what would his numbers be if he were on EG? Probably more than QXC. So, it's not that black and white, but hopefully one day there will be more transparency on what exactly has to be accomplished before one can be on a pro team.

He's been in their commercials, He's pretty good at hosting (dreamhack) and he's a community personality. EG isn't just a professional team, but rather a brand. People know EG outside of starcraft; they have professionals players / teams in DOTA2 / League of Legends, Counter-Strike / SSF IV, and WoW. If they need another to help them get exposure, Incontrol is that kind of guy.

But as for Machine, yeah I figure when his contract is up, he'll be gone just like LzGamer. Gotta trim the fat and use that dirty cash to afford another Korean Player to curse ![]()

It's still relevant, being one of the top foreigner Terrans is a rare feat these days (mainly due to how few play Terran as a foreigner). I dont think that the contract that Lzgamer got offered was really good. Like seriously, why should they give him a good contract? There was no reason too and the fact that he didnt take it, pretty much says that it wasnt a good contract. EG also already got a good chunk of powerful zerg. The need for Lz wasnt really there. If I was EG, I would probably do the same thing and give him a small contract and if he doesnt take it, it doesnt really matter.

Its pretty standard, because its the internet and its pretty dumb here. Most people love to point to results and claim that is the reason to keep paying someone on the team. Because that totally works in real sports. When teams don't win superbowls, closed down. Golfers are forced to give up their clubs if they go 2 year without a major title. All the other racers that don't win the tour de france, forced to ride into the ocean. Olympic athletes that get fourth place, not invited by to the national team in 4 years.

Unless you have detailed inside knowledge of the workings of EG as a corporation, detailed salary information on all pro players, and are basically Alex fucking Garfield, it's probably in your best interest to just stop talking like you're in the know about what EG should do, because you're making yourself look like an ass.

It's just that he really hasn't been producing any results since the very early WoL days. I wonder if it's because the contract expired or LzGamer decided to quit himself. If it was EG that kicked him out, I hope Machine isn't next :O, we need more foreign players GOdamnit >.< Edit: Ppl saying Incontrol will be next have zero common sense, Geoff (though pretty much a subpar player now) contributes a ton to EG's organization and is a great eSports personality with a trillion fans. Absolutely no way he will get kicked LOL

Just because people are showing support for the guy in this thread doesn't mean they're saying he's the best player ever. Also, IdrA didn't stream in the WoL beta.
