I can't stand the constant need for organizations to send public messages for what should otherwise be private/internal dealings. Welmu created the thread out of necessity due to his inability to privately contact you guys. Now that the public has rallied to get your attention, settle things with him, and allow him to clear things up.

Unless something that he's saying is completely off-base, there's no need for you to create a "public statement" since you should have been responsible to deal with this internally to begin with. Sure, your brand has been tarnished, but the best way it can be restored is to appropriately make amends with the one who has been victimized.

This whole announcement of an announcement thing has gotten out of hand.
