Everyone in TL knows the TL Ten Commandments, which I summarize thus:
- TL is private site. We are guests, as should act as such.
- Observe Social Etiquette, as you should in real life
- Understand the context if you feel the need to post or reply.
- Post with the intention of contributing.
- Do not spam.
- Respect forum veterans.
- Use English.
- Use a respectable ID. It reflects who you are.
- Read the Commandments.
- TL is supposed to be a place of fun, so have fun.
But as everyone who has been around long enough knows, there are a few things that develop in time, under specific contexts, and should be observed, or a user will be subject to certain undesirable consequences. Here, in no particular order, we list down those "rules", guidelines, and words of caution outside the Ten Commandments that TL users should heed:
- Boxer is a TL God. If you want to write anything negative about Boxer, it better be valid. No, change that, if you want to write anything negative about Boxer, JUST DON'T
- Stay away from KPOP thread, unless you know what you are doing.
- SC2 Live Report Threads are littered with ban mines. Proceed with utmost caution.
- LR Threads where IdrA is playing are especially radioactive. Again, caution.
- No Religion threads please
- Controversial threads are inhabited by trolls. Be careful with your passion and intensity, or you may get the wrong end of the discipline stick.
- The Automated Ban List threads (both the list and discussion threads) are a good way to kill time and have some laughs.
- Not all threads are created equal. There can be two threads of similar level of desirability or disagreability but one can be closed while the other can remain open forever. A lot of it has to do with the quality of the OP, timing, and sometimes the mood of the mods.
- Don't make "Blizzard should do this" or "SC2 is imba, and I know how to fix it" threads. Give Blizzard the benefit of the doubt that they know it and are doing something about it. For now, you are more useful if you try to explore the game as it is and work on its strength and weaknesses.
- No BW vs. SC2 threads.

If people behaved like they would in real life, the Internet would be a much better place.
