I won't say anything about how effective it is or isn't but that doesn't seem like the best way to be known :/ Good luck regardless though.

I've been wanting to say something like this too, but I kind of hesitated because I wouldn't be able to write something as nice as this and I know I'll get banned by the mods, haha (sorry it's just a part of me inside hates people like this). Edit: Just a quick update, Since my lessons with Tim I have I haven't dropped a game against a zerg opponent. ZvZ was once my worst match up by far. It was so bad at one point I would just leave games against zerg opponents rather than play it out.

Halby is a well-ranked Master's player, and I would like to see what you think about his "Uber Ups" TvZ style. He's a bit of a folk hero around the Battle.net forums and a favorite of many Terrans. Myself, I never worry about anything Zerg really throws at me, have only lost to me making ridiculous mistakes like allowing a Nydus all-in. This strategy is not really weak to early cheese, stays even with Zerg in Macro, and after it hits maturity at about 15 minutes it seems incredibly hard for Zerg to survive. Instead of a "deathball, kill you with my blob" strategy, it's pure attrition and slowly crushes the Zerg under constant fast-double-upgraded marines, aiming to simply push that "units lost" figure constantly higher for Zerg as they trade gas units and possible drones for cheap, spammable, and immensely powerful in small to medium groups of 2/2, 3/3 stimmed marines with a constant cloud of medivacs. No tanks, almost no Marauders or Ghosts, almost never any Thors. LOTS of Marine, a bunch of Medivacs, and a few Banshee's is all he ever uses 95% of the time. I do love how nearly everyone you bring this up to simply goes, "Pfft, any decent Zerg player will crush this". And yet TvZ is almost auto-win for me, nearly every other Terran who uses it, and Halby has a VERY high % with it against upper-ranked Masters. Even Spanishiwa got beat by it on his stream... twice in a row. He simply didn't have any answer to it. Skip to 1:20 http://www.twitch.tv/spanishiwa/b/295794688 Here's Halby's channel. He commentates his own games and you can watch him deal with any composition you care to mention. http://www.youtube.com/user/HalbyStarcraft/featured

I guess my question in all this is, have you experimented with keeping roaches longer into the ZvT composition without committing all-in and having a clear transition into late game where the roaches role naturally goes away. I just can't help to think that this style is on to something. Anyone else that has been thinking similar?

This is absolutely the place to talk about drone saturation! lol I personally single-mine all the patches and then double mine the closer patches, but you're right - double mining the closest patches with your first 6-8 drones will marginally benefit your income and every bit counts.

http://www.twitch.tv/tangsc/b/331741138# On the final day, I faced top players from EG, iS, and NrG, but managed to maintain a solid win streak. I finished 34th in NA with 2,007 points (191W/146L). There's a very good chance that I'll make Grandmaster when the next season opens up, and I'd like to thank you all for tuning in to show support! ♥ ♥
