I'm going to be pretty blunt in saying that all I see you ever post about, or anyone else ever talk about you posting about is how you advertise yourself, your website, or your tutoring.
I won't say anything about how effective it is or isn't but that doesn't seem like the best way to be known :/
Good luck regardless though.

Gotta agree with Kyo here though I dont mind you helping others . So far you have only posted build orders and the game is so much more than just build orders . Good job on taking the initiative though because not a lot of people do that.
As long as you have fans you are doing the right thing right? :D and haters just make you more famous right? :D

I've been wanting to say something like this too, but I kind of hesitated because I wouldn't be able to write something as nice as this and I know I'll get banned by the mods, haha (sorry it's just a part of me inside hates people like this). But anyways... good luck and maybe I'll tune into your stream

GO GO TANG! For anyone who doubts Tangs ability as a coach or thinks that his promotion methods are shameless, I would strongly urge you to take a lesson with him. I was in Gold and after one lesson and being shown a 3 gate fe with two varying possibilties (i.e. early pressure or straight tech to colo) I was smashing Platinum face in no time.

I will be watching every chance I get.

Just took my first lesson from Tang. I spent an hour with him and learned how to deal with different openings and what I should be thinking at certain points in the game. He talks you through the build orders and tells you what the other player should be doing right about now. Tang is definitely a great coach and I'm looking forward to learning more from him in the future

I have to agree with L3th4lity I've been having alot of uncertainty with my zvt and zvz but Tang's really helped me work on getting more confident in my play. I'm glad this thread is reopened it has a ton of good information on it I think can really help lower players such as myself.

Edit: Just a quick update, Since my lessons with Tim I have I haven't dropped a game against a zerg opponent. ZvZ was once my worst match up by far. It was so bad at one point I would just leave games against zerg opponents rather than play it out.

Tang, I follow a player I found early on on Youtube, and I think it would be cool to get some outside perspective.
Halby is a well-ranked Master's player, and I would like to see what you think about his "Uber Ups" TvZ style. He's a bit of a folk hero around the Battle.net forums and a favorite of many Terrans. Myself, I never worry about anything Zerg really throws at me, have only lost to me making ridiculous mistakes like allowing a Nydus all-in.
This strategy is not really weak to early cheese, stays even with Zerg in Macro, and after it hits maturity at about 15 minutes it seems incredibly hard for Zerg to survive.
Instead of a "deathball, kill you with my blob" strategy, it's pure attrition and slowly crushes the Zerg under constant fast-double-upgraded marines, aiming to simply push that "units lost" figure constantly higher for Zerg as they trade gas units and possible drones for cheap, spammable, and immensely powerful in small to medium groups of 2/2, 3/3 stimmed marines with a constant cloud of medivacs. No tanks, almost no Marauders or Ghosts, almost never any Thors. LOTS of Marine, a bunch of Medivacs, and a few Banshee's is all he ever uses 95% of the time.
I do love how nearly everyone you bring this up to simply goes, "Pfft, any decent Zerg player will crush this". And yet TvZ is almost auto-win for me, nearly every other Terran who uses it, and Halby has a VERY high % with it against upper-ranked Masters. Even Spanishiwa got beat by it on his stream... twice in a row. He simply didn't have any answer to it.

Here's Halby's channel. He commentates his own games and you can watch him deal with any composition you care to mention.

I think watching Tangs + Cecils stream = improve very fast. Most times u watch a stream to hear thought processes and get nothing. These streams focus on that almost exclusively. Very nice!

How is he scamming? He has 5 accounts that only post on his threads, unless they actually are students from his lessons who sign up to post once, which is possible albeit unlikely. I don't know if that's what you mean by scamming though. He just likes to allin people as zerg, which is counterproductive to improving at lower levels, but nice to know how to do so terrans don't all 1 rax 2x cc you and get away with it.

I don't like your play
I don't like your style

But goddamn you do so much for this community, and from what I see and hear you make a great teacher.
Good luck!

Thanks you guys

SC2 is down for maintenance and GM will be released this afternoon around 2pm. I finished 73W-41L:

Whether or not I get into GM, I'm extremely appreciative of the support you've shown me this week. I had a blast chatting and commentating over stream and I really enjoyed the run. Can't thank you guys enough!

It's ridiculous if you don't get in, you've been playing so well... sucks. Well, even if you don't, you should still stream because it's been some of the best games I've seen from you and from anyone. Thanks for them~!

Well guys, it's been a long and tenuous journey through the first week of season 8. Running on 2-hours of sleep, I kept my composure and played my absolute best, but sadly I did not reach grandmaster this season. On the bright side, I consistently held the rank 1 position in my masters division with a 66-70% win ratio and held my own against pros from Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, xSix, LgN, and many other top teams.

It was an absolute blast to stream my attempt to earn GM, and I was humbled by all your messages of support and encouragement. If I even started to have a negative thought, you guys were there to remind me of how much fun I was having! So once again I'd like to thank you all

I'm not at all discouraged - I can't wait to give it another go!! Have a great season everyone!

Thanks for the streaming! Looking back at the hours of stream I've watched, I've been thinking of compiling some highlights. It'll be hard with the hours of games to wade through, but some moments were worth it.

I've been keeping my eye on the zerg sortOf. He does very similar things to the tang-style in ZvT. What he does differently is that he is mixing in roaches longer into the game and just keep pounding on the terran. Much like your roach-ling bust that transitions into two base bane speed , +1 armor and roach speed.

I guess my question in all this is, have you experimented with keeping roaches longer into the ZvT composition without committing all-in and having a clear transition into late game where the roaches role naturally goes away. I just can't help to think that this style is on to something.

Anyone else that has been thinking similar?

I'm not too familiar with sortOf. I have seen Stephano do a more roach-centric style, especially against mech, and I think it's pretty strong/viable to do Ling/Roach/Infestor and skip banelings entirely.

this may not me the right place to ask questions but i am interested in drone saturation. Why do you now try to double mine the close patches before you have one drone at each mineral patch? Is it that the drones are likely to become unstuck? or is it acutally bad to have 2 on a close patch and some patches not being mined at all?

It increases your mining efficiency very slightly. But that slight increase is what they're looking for.

im not sure ive been clear. Tang recommends double mining the close patches from the point you have one drone per patch. Wouldn't it be better to double mine from the close patches before you have one drone per patch?

This is absolutely the place to talk about drone saturation! lol
I personally single-mine all the patches and then double mine the closer patches, but you're right - double mining the closest patches with your first 6-8 drones will marginally benefit your income and every bit counts.

First streamer I've ever seen that actually provides helpful commentary and perspective. You clearly explain what you're doing, what your opponent's doing, and how you're going to respond. Your upbeat attitude and commentary makes this a fantastic stream to watch =D Keep it up!

Streamed my final ladder session of the season:
http://www.twitch.tv/tangsc/b/331741138#

On the final day, I faced top players from EG, iS, and NrG, but managed to maintain a solid win streak.

I finished 34th in NA with 2,007 points (191W/146L). There's a very good chance that I'll make Grandmaster when the next season opens up, and I'd like to thank you all for tuning in to show support! ♥ ♥

The "scam" you're referring to was a screenshot where I said "I'll paypal you 20$ if you leave the game " Someone took the screenshot and posted it on Reddit, but conveniently left out the "JK" that followed. I've never paid someone to leave a game, and I stream my ladder games leading up to Grandmaster this season.

TL;DR Don't believe everythign you read on the internet, or at least look at the posting history of the person who makes the accusation (Kenzy) who also falsely accused TT1 and Nestea of maphacking.

It’s always a pleasure to see when you are streaming. The commentary and chat is professional. Not like the others ones where they just talk about OP and how bad things are and a constant moan. One additional thing is there is no BM!
Every loss is being seen as a lesson by Tang and the viewers.
