I hate the fact that you can report people in a video game...everyone is such pussies wtf man up. Just block people if you hate BM. Every time I see people freak out over bm its just like someone saying fag or noob.

I've never gotten into trouble in any Blizz games, but I had some fun with GMs on an Ultima Online shard I used to play on. One of the rules of the server was one account per IP but I suffered from Diablo 2 syndrome at the time so I wanted more than 5 toons. Everytime I made a new account I'd get PMed by a GM telling me that another account was already associated with my IP and I needed a good reason or else face the banhammer.

So naturally I made up some BS excuse like the other account belonged to my brother and so on. Next thing I know I have 7 accounts belonging to my fictitious family and was starting to get bored of the game. I started releasing dragons in town on toons that didn't have high enough taming skill, writing foul language out in the newbie donation boxes, ect. Really immature crap in hindsight I'm not really proud of.

Anytime one of my accounts would get banned for these offenses I'd log on to one of my other accounts and pretend I was the person's brother/sister/dad who had hijacked the account because they were mad at the person. I'd plead my case and the GMs would unban me eventually.

One day I logged in and my main was in a jail cell with nothing but a blanket on the ground and a bar of soap. I logged around and all my toons on every account were in some kind of player prison. All my characters were stripped of all their gear and items, but a few of them had a single item in their inventory. It was a book that read "We've built a new home for your wonderful family."

I thought getting owned that hard by a GM staff was pretty hilarious.

Again, how is the employees sexual orientation anything to do with why you were banned? It has absolutely nothing to do with it. Blizzard will have a standard operating procedure which you breached with your use of language and thus got banned. The fact you keep bringing sexuality into this just shows your homophobia and discrimination against others along with your use of the word "faggot" itself. As I said earlier in this thread I have a lot of experience in dealing with similar things for another online game, Blizzard's system is very similar to that from what I understand from friends who've worked at Blizzard. They have a list of words/phrases which will result in a ban if used in an offensive .
Anyway, it's pointless continuing this discussion as like most terrible trolls online you simply ignore all the points made in posts disagreeing with your side.

As I said previously in this thread there is very very unlikely to be such a thing as a "funny" ban or suspension as they're not just handed out for nothing. Offensive language, telling people to kill themselves, threatening to kill people etc. are not funny and thus this thread was doomed to fail from the very start. You managed to provide an excellent example of this in your opening post and there's not been a single funny example provided thus far.

And again...you prove you never went to school and therefore cannot read. I didn't even talk about the "killing your family" stuff. Somebody else did and I was simply quoting it as an example of how messed up Blizzards ban system is.

I was sincerely trying to make this a thread about funny bans...somebody else brought that in and I guess it gets pinned on me.

I never said you did say that, I said that such things are not funny in any manner along with every single example people can provide for what they're banned for. You provided an example of not funny ban in the original post.

I fail to see how my view (based upon experience from the other side of this amongst other things) somehow proves I didn't go to school? It might shock you but different parts of the world have different cultures and within those different environments which all have different acceptable behaviour. It doesn't matter if you use this word in school, that doesn't make it acceptable everywhere else. Blizzard don't care what you do between your friends, they do however care when you use inappropriate language to insult others online and I'm sure if you go on the Battle.Net forums after your ban is up and tell Blizzard that you think they're "homosexual" for giving you the ban then you'll be receiving another deserved one shortly after.

Maybe you're reading a different thread to me but I haven't seen anyone say your ban was funny, the only thing that's been commented on is the style of the message that was sent which people fail to realise would have been automated. The employee would simply put the offensive language in and the rest is done automatically.

You're the one that needs to go out in the real world as you seem to think that everything is determined about what is acceptable between your group of friends. you try going around calling people "faggots", go to your job and call fellow employees "faggot". I bet you won't have that job for long if you do that.

Maybe if Blizzard wasn't discriminatory in their justice I would agree with your bold opinion, but they aren't and are very inconsistent in behavioral moderation. Sometimes it's humorous, other times it isn't. Even under a perfect disciplinary system though, some bans might be considered humorous by nature.

The fact that no one has managed to provide an example that you specifically found funny shows absolutely nothing except that your sense of humor is very different from several people who have posted in this thread.

To get the thread back on track:

My cstrike 1.6 team was playing in a cal-m playoff match against a team with a known admin smurfing on it. I take off my pants and take a giant dump all over their faces CTside train, dropping 28. They end up losing 16-4. Right after the match, two of the other guys (not including the admin) come into our IRC channel and start BMing hard, and to no surprise of mine it turns out I got appealed for my demo. Send in demo, get banned for "cheating" literally 22 minutes later (didn't have time to watch the demo, rofl), forever alone.

As much as cal held up that community, god those admins were dbags

This thread got derailed hard. So much manner.

At any rate, only time blizzard banned me was when i got banned on purpose!

about 3 years ago when i decided to stop playing WoW (after burning crusade), i decided to see what it was like to hack a little. I went to the top of one of the continents, turned on this random speed hack, reached the other end of the whole place in 5 seconds flat, stop moving, disconnected. Banned for 3 days. Was a fun 5 seconds tho! Jumping was intense. Was a quality way to leave. Other than that i really have no other offenses on record =o
