Today blizzard announced they would be starting the beta for Heart of the swarm very soon.
A brief quote the official release
We are going to start an invitational only beta for heart of the swarm as soon as next week. We intend for this stage of the beta to be limited to only people with extensive starcraft experience to iron out as much of the balance as possible before wider release. In order to enforce this we will only be accepting beta members, who are at least master's on the ladder. Of course we understand starcraft has a wide range of players and later on we will we accept players from all skill levels.

In order to apply you must have a registered blizzard account and own valid copy of starcraft 2 wings of liberty. As well your ladder rank must be at least masters and have played a game within the last month. Beta access will be given at random, with exceptions for highly skilled players.

Honestly I'm kinda peeved at the whole only masters can apply, but W/E can still watch other people stream and still looking forward to it. Anyone else have thoughts on this announcement.
