Hey all, I just watched one of the "featured" streams where a top master league player just crapped around in team games. It wasnt even very funny. Nuke your allies, just make pylons the entire game and so on.
Ofc the other players got angry and no one laughed.
Hopefully someone used the in-game reporting function.
My question is: Why are such bad-mannered stupid pricks allowed to have a link to their stream on TL?

its a game you are suposed to have fun

team games actually mean something now? that's news to me.

I believe you can report this stuff to a TL mod then they might remove the stream from the featured section. Don't quote me on this though.

So one player having fun while 7 others have their games spolied is OK? Well, thanks, I think I will spend the next couple of days wrecking team games on B.net. cya. It will be fun. For me myself and I which is most important, right?

I'm pretty sure its reportable on battle.net and people have been banned for repeated abuse.

I dunno sounds funny to me

Who was this nuking their allies?

So if i enjoy drop hacking 24/7 in GM that's ok, so long as im having fun?
Im guessing this was protech? trolling 4v4s (his words). Ive never seem him attacking/nuking his allys before. That's pretty BM.

I dont want to name or blame anyone. But OK, the ally nuke made me giggle.

Next will you ask to have people who cheese removed from featured? It's part of the game people get something out of it in different ways, and streamers are not picked on skill only but viewer numbers and entertainment value/personality which really shines in more relaxed team games.

<@Megalisk> lokim tell this faggot that no one cares about team games

There's no obligation to follow when a stream is featured. It just means that for some reason or another, these streams deserve a special place of their own.

ProTech could probably win single-handedly in a team game. Let the guy have some fun.
If you haven't nuked your allies, try it. It's pretty fun. And he was probably doing it when they were far ahead and almost unloseable right?

If youre too dumb to see the difference between cheese and just wrecking the game for your team then maybe you should avoid posting in these forums.

Nope, right at the beginning, sadly.

I read your post once and was like "WTF, I screw around in team games all the time", by like playing solo monobattles with myself, (love going mass ghost or mass reaper in team games, it's actually really good and fun), but then I read it again, and understood better what you were saying. If people are ruining other peoples play time like that I think that is bullshit and not funny at all. Why ruin another persons time to try and be funny or whatever. I don't understand why the starcraft community is becoming so antagonistic. I don't think TL holds streams to any certain standards except in extreme circumstances (See: IdrA vs Chill), but I feel that at least featured streams should be held to at least some standard of quality. If you see this I think you should fix the OP (less negative and make a more clear point) because I do think there is a discussion to be had here.
|
If you can get banned for it then it shouldn't be on a featured stream.
|
Yeah, in a just world he would get warned or something. I know team games aren't as serious, but if you've been griefed over and over you'll realize it shouldn't be a part of the game. That is why on FPS they kicked or lose points after so many teamkills, it ruins someones gaming experience and it sucks.
This should probably be put in website feedback though.

He may not be doing anything to break the TOS. But both acts are ruining the game for others, for personal gain

WTF is this shit? No one cares. And if I could un-ally teammates like in BW I would do that too :p Do you really feel offended because one guy nukes his allies? How old are you? Are you a girl?

?? Cheesing and nuking your own allies in team game are on the same level now?
|
I'd rather lose a teamgame because someone nukes me then losing a standard game tbh. The stream shouldnt be featured because of something laughable like this? If you dont want to see it, turn the stream off.
Who actually cares about this except you Mr. Grubbe? I'm sometimes curious why people make a fuzz about EVERYTHING...
I mean... I saw Incontrol trying to streamsnipe Deezer once. I saw Deezer streamsniping everyone once. I saw shittons of BM on IdrAs and many other streams.
Lets take all the quality streams (except Deezer xD) off TL.

Wow I can't believe people are actually supporting this. The quality of the TL community really has gone down. I would report ASAP, why the hell would you support griefers? Just because you are a good player doesn't mean you can just be a dick. Unfortunately griefing happens in every team game but I cannot fathom why people would actually support it.

Umm are you are comparing griefing to cheese? Cheese is a legitimate strategy of the game. Griefing is purposely ruining the game for other players. With your logic why don't we all use hacks? Surely that must have a lot of entertainment value.

you cant un-ally people in ladder games.

He should probably be unfeatured already.

Intentionally ruining the game for other people is not someone TL has ever endorsed. Just because individuals might not view team games as "serious business" there's still those that find it fun. Ruining the fun for them by nuking them etc. is pathetic.
Report the featured streamer to a TL mod. I'm sure they will sort it out

If I was one of his allies, I'd leave. KK? On to the next game. Seriously, do you even like to play sc? I mean it must be hell getting offended all the time for the most trivial things.

Well, since ProTech streams mostly 2v2's, I assume that's why he's featured. He's held then number 1 possition in the world since release pretty much constantly, and to make him unfeatured wouldn't make much sense.
Being bm isn't really enough of a reason to get unfeatured, IdrA's stream was still featured when he was banned, for example. Because TL knows that featuring one of the best players in the current game will yield positive results for both parties.
Of course 4v4 bronze-league troling is very BM, but that is hardly a majority of the games he streams.
|
I only watched it once and no more since then. I play 2v2 with my friend and was wondering what strat is useful for certain combos.. Anyways after watching it for a while I was surprised that his stream get featured on TL.. Oh lord i just waste my time watching a featured stream?I mean, if you get featured then your stream must be educational to your viewers, right? Not to mention the bm...
|
Sounds pretty funny to me.

I hardly think that you need to be "educational" to be featured, generally the featured-list contains popular players, rather than "educational" ones.
|
Well its just some funky team game, I wouldn't take it so seriously I mean its gonna happen but that doesn't mean TL is somehow in the wrong for having him featured because he acts like a moron in one game. Shit happens. :/
|
If that sort of stuff makes you mad, don't watch the stream or just go whine to a mod or something, posting it here doesnt help, if you ask me
|
Yeah protech, i enjoy his 2v2s but all this shit he does in 4v4 is just disgusting and the sad thing is that some ppl seem to enjoy the crap he does. In 1 game it can be funny and for the lulz but he does it constantly in almost every 4v4 he does, this is the main reason i am no longer watching his stream because i dont want to support this kind of bullshit.

I agree: it is sad to see so many people defending a griefer.
I don't think it's a big deal. People fucking around is part of the game, and gaming/the internet in general. There is nothing that can be done about it.
But to support it. No. That reflects poorly on both yourself and TL as a website.
Seriously - if someone were to Google griefing in SC2 and found this thread, they would not join this community.
|
It's a game. To have fun, and mess around.
I do the same thing sometimes. If you take everything so seriously like this your life will be miserable.
|

"lol who cars" is not a proper response as obviously, the OP and other people here, including myself, do care. I enjoy playing 4v4 games as yes, its a less stressful form of the game. But I do not join a game to be griefed and lose from stupid shit like this.
Joining a game purely to cause frustration and grief to others. Do you know what that makes you? A jackass.
I feel ashamed to see such a state of the community devolve to the point of defending this.
|
People are assholes bro. Nuke him back :D
|
Imagine if you were one of the other players on the griefer's team...
I wouldn't care. Because again, it's a game. We're not pros here making a living on if we win or lose.
Chill man.
|
What the fuck is wrong with you people? If someone purposefully ruins the game for others by griefing, then how can that be ok? Maybe it's not something to be really upset about, but still how is it in any form ok behaviour? It's not ok to be an asshole towards other people just for your own amusement.
And like someone else said, if you're to dumb to see the difference between cheesing and griefing then maybe you shouldn't be posting in these forums.
