Something is up with league changes, but we don't know what specifically is the root cause. Blizzard is aware of the issue and are testing a hotfix. -- Excal_Z 6/15 This does not mean that there is a global ladder lock!! If you're stuck in the bronze league but above that level of skill you will be forced to place people less skillful than you not allowing you to improve yourself. | ||

Unless I've been under a grand misconception since beta, the matchmaking system uses a hidden rating to place you against opponents, which allows you to play people outside of your league. | ||

MMR is still working, promotion isn't. It doesn't matter if you are in bronze facing diamond/master/grandmaster, your MMR is still changing. The problem here is the promotion system, not who you are getting matched up against. | ||

When I'm making a group I usually don't invite with people who have bronze-gold 1v1 rankings. Even if I do, the rest of my team leaves. | ||

That is a false statement. You can be in Bronze league but if your MMR is in the right range, you will place against anyone in any league. | ||
