Good god. Levi's and Fruit of the Loom T-shirts FTW. Vans, ball cap, belt. Random hoody as needed. Gray and black. I'm kinda a minimalist though, and it doesn't really look generic on me.

nice kops. Is black the dominant color in your wardrobe?

Tox: Diesel is pretty expensive too afaik, but i have a couple of suits from JL that i wear on more formal occasions. Classy stuff and good pricing.

Yeah, I'm a nub at fashion, so I just go to Forever21 and H&M here lol. Slightly above par fashion for cheap. :D Maybe if I had some more money I'd shop at Zara- like some people I know rofl.
Last thing I bought was a Casual jacket from Forever21- I'd post a pic if I could find it...
|
I mostly find the designer things rather to complicated exepct when it is about jacket's matles and suits
I am a firm believer in the elegant italian bootee with quality Jeans and a good (T)-shirt as the most reserved leisure clothing. You shouldn't flash but no need to be a slump either.
this is my latest shoe addition ![[image loading]](http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRW4i7T9WA1WlVbW-DB91mBJnz7WHIZJwSt-eWMPzMS8QNnVZ8L)
image is similar but a close match, itallian custom made, size 50 feet HORRAY , this with a Levis 502 or a joker slim cut and you can grab any nerd shirt you want as long as it is a good fit and rock everything from the streets to the clubs
main reason why I dont style in sneakers, puma the feckers never made bigger than 46.
When ever I get a chance to suit up, I do and then the gloves come of. Everything goes except monotone 90"s cut, 2 piece suits in Dark blue or gray with a white shirt and a fuck ass boring tie....:r
|
if my budget was smaller, i would probably do all of my shopping at American Apparel and Acne. Really solid, SEXY stuff
|
Too much of dark colors for my taste. I like my fashion to be more laid back. Modern elegant sneakers, jeans or black pants with belt and a TShirt and you can also add some nice blazer. I dont see my self wearing boots, gloves, scarfs or stuff like that. I also like in mans fashion watches, even tho i never wear any.

I hate companys like g-sus or Gstar or most other upperclass highstreet labels, because they have all these amazing looking clothes and when I come in with my 2Meter (6 foot7) and 112 Kilos there isn't a single thing in the whole store that fits me........
so i mostly rely on Hugo Boss, Levis, Loyd and Timberland

But to each his own, I suppose. Fashion is subjective, in my opinion.
I certainly don't think there's a thread about men wearing *these* kinds of clothes.

These brands are actually very popular among actors, musicians and artists. Jude Law, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and even Springsteen are all into most of these brands. just to name a few.

Currently, I'm really developing a liking for Paul Smith, it's really modern and lively.
In the past, I've liked Burberry, Paul Stuart, Hugo Boss (this is by far my largest collection of shirts), Marc by Marc Jacob and a few pieces from here and there. I definitely notice a shift towards casual.
Most recently purchased was a pair of black converse shoes lol, something "big" was probably a navy summer suit from CK Collection.
I'm caring less and less these days, mostly because I live in a really rural area presently. This will probably change once I move to NYC

My god. How did I forget Gstar. Literally half my clothes are Gstar. edit: linky http://www.g-star.com/en/#/en-ca/fashion-shows/2010-fall-winter/the-show/
Haha... I completely know what you mean, but it's not pretty from my end either. It's practically impossible for myself (5'11", 68kg, 30 inch waist) to find non-diesel/lind/gstar clothing that fits. Generic/cheaper clothing is always awfully cut (think: garbage bag) and not fitted, so I am forced to spend the money on imported. You are unable to wear it and I am forced to. :p

No can do right now, I'm rather self conscious because some medical issues made me lose a ton of weight, and I refuse to post pics of me looking this skinny. I'm 6'2" and dropped from 160 to 130lb, which is pretty much skin, bones, and ink.

I think to pull off rick owens and other goth ninja fashions you have to be a pretty manly mature dude, like say lenny kravitz. Same with really long hair.
I think people wearing crazy shit is awesome, but I personally wouldn't wear the stuff posted in this thread. I would only go as far as to drop a good chunk of change on nice denim. Not diesel or true religion shit though. Actual nice denim.
More power to ya though. Wear whatever you want I think it's cool.

Yea you're really openminded too bro. "YOU LIVE IN SERBIA, AN UNDERDEVELOPED COUNTRY, YOUR OPINION DOESN'T MATTER" "YOU'RE BAD AT HISTORY"
Seriously, if you're trying to sport the open minded arguement, don't shoot people's opinions down. Open minded doesn't mean you have to like everything, it just means you'll look at things without a prejudice.
OT: My personal opinion, notice this is mine, you can not call it wrong, is that those outfits fit the stereotype of a homosexual person. I find fashion to be a waste of time on men, since we'll never, ever be beautiful unless we're born that way. We can sport masculinity and various other things, but rarely beauty. It's just the way things work. And sure if you're a beautiful man (1 in 20k) Then i'm glad for you, it's great. But the majority of people aren't and we'll stop wasting time waxing it when we can't get rid of the scratches anyway (car refference obv).
Again, it's the way things work, skinny pretty boys may be able to wear these outfits, but a properly build man would look foolish in them.
|
Seems like a lot of work to look like a twat.
The great thing about being a dude is that you can just go with timeless and win long term. Takes all the effort out of it. Oh well, to each his own.

So what you are saying is basicly "dont bother posting a thread about mens fashion because most men look like trash". im quite speechless.
Can we please stop the flaming and the OT? Post outfits, designers or something constructive instead of accusing people of being homosexual.

Also, I have seen pictures of people that actually look amazing in Rick Owens, much better then the celebrities you have posted. They are gay though :x

@quiet noise: 1) you shouldn't answer to the troll 2) you shouldn't answer to anyone with "in my world where everybody is rich beautiful and successful..." because you sound like a douche by saying that.
If you're intent is to promote men fashion i think you should try to be more open with everyone it's your thread after all, try to bring people to post good content.
Anyway I'm not a huge fan of avant-garde but I would be interested if some people knew some site that give some good suits advice.

I have a girlfriend that i love, thank you. the fact that you think these outfits makes you look like an alien demonstrates the fact that you live in a cold, dead place in the middle of nowhere. If you went to a city like NYC or London and spent some time with some upper-middle class kids, you would realize that this is pretty "standard" way of dressing nowdays. Thank you

UGGGH G-star.... When I visited Europe a couple years ago, there were TONS of people wearing G-star stuff, and... Well. I'ma try to be polite and just say that the type of guys who wore them were HILARIOUS. we will just go with the word 'Hilarious'.

I wish people dressed up a little nicer. Well-dressed men are hot.
The pictures in the OP are so... random though. Some are crazy hot, others look really... gay. Not a bad thing by any means, just sort of the "yeah chances are he's not interested" type of bummer you get when you see a really hot gay guy.

I can see why some people like these clothes, but after 16 years of football and martial arts, it would make me look ridiculous. Are there any examples of "stronger" men pulling these things off?

OP, you just post the most provocative fashion pics that don't represent reality. It's bullshit that you claim people dress like that in NYC. People dress well, but almost no one wears off-the-runway fashion in their day-to-day lives.
I've lived in Tokyo for almost a year, and it's probably one of the most liberal fashion hubs in the world; even in Tokyo, if you dress like the pics you posted, you would get very weird looks.

Btw, Lenny Kravitz looks terrible in that picture, like a new born deer on stilts. Its a sad fact that the modern Fashion industry for men caters only for the guys with eating disorders or very slim builds. Blame Heidi Slimane (Dior Homme) even when i really think about it, i cant come up with a single high end designer that caters to strong-built men.

some of those leather jackets in the first post actually look pretty cool, but most of it is totally over the top or just looks weird
also all of this stuff is hilariously expensive
i could probably buy 3 years worth of clothes for one of those jackets or something :D

@Quiet noise: People from London and NYC are neither smarter nor 'hipper' than anyone else in the world. Common misconception.

Pretty much. This thread is destined for failure.
On topic, I wear suits all the time. Normal suits. They look great. They are all you need to look classy.

Cold, dead place in the middle of nowhere? Where are you from first of all? And upper-middle class kids? How retarded are you? I am like the top of top class and my friends don't dress like this. Do you? (which class are you from by the way?)
P.S: I am a girl who is really into fashion and have male model friends. Even they think this is GAY! So stfu honey.

I'm not really interested in most aspects of men's fashion, as the fashion industry is largely dominated by those who automatically think X looks good because designer X made it, or person X wore it. I buy my jeans at the WE/Mexx most of the time (2 for 50e), shirts at Cavallaro (2 for 85):
![[image loading]](http://www.rotterdam.info/images/organisation/orgid11707/medium/Cavallaro-755870905.jpg) The only items I really care for are shoes & jackets. Jackets can be anything I like, prices range from ~30 euro to ~120. Shoe brands I really like are Floris van Bommel, Hugo Boss, Bugatti. I buy those when they're on sale, scored my last Hugo Boss pair for 50e when the original price was 250
The Hugo Boss pair:

I'd suggest to every guy to try some good quality leather shoes, you all will never want to go back to those plastic Nike sneakers or whatever you wear. I see in most threads that American guys wear lots of sneakers, and those really sound like a waste of money, as the leather really feels so much better. Sneakers are for sports, not for looks.

i wear hugo boss, true religion jeans, 7FAM, R&R
my fav brands :D

Clothes that are not made in sweatshops and not mass produced are going to be pretty expensive. Typically with better materials as well. They may be too expensive for many, but that doesn't mean they are overpriced.

LOL are you serious? where i live, this is how you HAVE to wear (no you dont have to spend 1500$ on a jacket, but skin tight jeans and a loose t-shirt is basic. Guys in general dress very feminine, and they have done for so years) if you want to fit in.
different cultures are different. I have a nice girl friend (who works as a fashion model) so i dont really care much for your advice.

OK well we've asked you many times where you actually live because we are trying to grasp that this is what people wear on a normal basis.. No one here sees clothing like this so we are curious as to where this is common yet you haven't answered..

I also think we can safely assume that the emasculation of men in the fashion industry has become horrible. It's like a unity soup, with women with no breasts or butt and men without any muscle definition look exactly the same. Equality between women and men doesn't mean you should look the same. Luckily some brands are taking up a bit fuller models, but some are still skin over bone.

Yes that is what you said.
Edit: This really isnt my style clothing tbh. Even if I was interested there is zero chance this passes dress code at any of the businesses I have worked for. If you remake this thread ever I would recommend creating a blog to discuss your fashion tastes. It seems like a much more worthy blog topic than G/D topic.

Looks like an anorexic Carmen Sandiego without her hat.
Anyways, there are plenty of different fashions and styles that may seem ridiculous to some people and not to others. But I don't think saying, "Look, Male Celebrity X is wearing high heels; therefore, you're a true man if you wear them!" is a good argument.
Try to keep it civil? I don't buy into these novel fashions either, but some people do.

I never said i wear this because i have to. i was into this long before it became a mainstream fab and i will continue to dress like this when it goes out of style in a couple of years. i dont care for trends, just wanted to fend of the loser who said that you cant get a GF if you are into fashion.

What happened in this thread? I'd love a thread where I can learn about nice designers / clothing style. I still have that site bookmarked that JWD linked about custom ordered shirts.

How quiet noise managed to avoid any sort of warning is beyond me, but it's a bit late for that now.
This thread turned really bad really fast ._. ...must be a new record or something.
