FINAL EDIT:
This is a general notice that we are posting to players as well as sending to all of our fansite contacts. This was not intended to be aimed at you specifically. We’re just trying to get the word out. Best, Nethaera Received an email a couple minutes ago from Blizzard
Blizzard Entertainment has always taken cheating in any form in Blizzard games very seriously, and that's no different for StarCraft II. If a StarCraft II player is found to be cheating or using hacks or modifications in any form, then as outlined in our end user license agreement, that player can be permanently banned from the game. This means that the player will be permanently unable to log in to Battle.net to play StarCraft II with his or her account. Playing StarCraft II legitimately means playing with an unaltered game client. Doing otherwise violates our policies for Battle.net, and it goes against the spirit of fair play that all of our games are based on. We strongly recommend that you avoid using any hacks, cheats, or exploits. Suspensions and bans of players that have used or start using cheats and hacks will begin in the near future. Nethaera Community Manager Blizzard Entertainment Did anyone else get this? And yes this email was directly from a Blizzard employee.

Stop letting Koreans play on your account. It's cheating!
Haha, in all seriousness, why would you get this e-mail? Unless everybody is getting the e-mail... I haven't received one.

So do you have sc2 retail on an account with that email or was this a phish?
|

Weird. I haven't gotten any such emails.
|
Oh awesome, they are taking the MLB approach now!! 'Hey Hey guys, steroids are bad, don't do them and all.... ps., next drug test is on Sept. 16, please make sure you are clean before then!!!'
|
scammer maybe?
happens all the time from my wow time

Basically this email is saying;
Your record / rank are way too good as a Zerg player. We suspect you are cheating, as there is no way you should be ranked this high playing vs Terrans as Zerg.
User was temp banned for this post.

I hope this notice means Blizzard will start banning hackers soon.

Good thing I managed to suck without using hacks
|
read it as "SC2 Cheesing Notice" :D
Cool to see them taking action.

it's not because you're lending your account to phoenixwerra, although i'm sure they're aware of that, mr. only-zerg-in-the-NA-top-20-whose-account-is-being-used-by-a-korean-on-a-popular-tl-stream. still, i doubt they care about that since phoenix has bought his own korean copy and you never seem to use yours.
it's because you're the founder of a fansite, as your signature says. they just posted this up on the battle.net website, too.

Since kOre only played like 3 games on that account himself, and that the account is on a different email - technically speaking you can argue that the sc2 license has been given to phoenix as a gift. kOre only played to ummm.. set things up? Make sure everything is running and such...
Many people watch phoenix play and we can all testify that he does not use hacks. Blizz prob just assumed he hacks since a zerg is not meant to be in top 20 :p. He is just that good!

If you read the OP he specifically said that it was sent to his beta e-mail account.
|
um maybe because of starcraft mecca? should ask fansite owners and such.
|
Why are they even sending out a notice. Just ban all the hackers immediately and be done with it.
|
perhaps the most recent system maintenance included a wave of bans? Let's hope so
|
Just think they are going on the front saying "Hey we are banning folks, and we will continue, dont screw around" kinda. Hard time imagening they send it to 1 person to say "Hey watch it"
|
it will be nice for blizzard to take hacks seriously and crack down on them.
|
That is now posted on the news feed in game and on thier blog. What scares me most is the word soon, that could be years from now. Also lol at them saying they have always taken cheating seriously.
|
I'm concerned that this might affect people who have changed their hotkeys... because they state that you should only play with unchanged game data... and changing hotkeys does change data, doesn't it?

FYI, this means that we take it seriously until Heart of the Swarm comes out, and then we'll unban you and spam your email about buying the new game.

Fine with me if hackers get banned, and then get offers to buy the game again only to get banned again. If they don't learn then they are pretty stupid I would imagine.

I think its pretty cool you got your follow up email so quickly. Did you post this on battle.net? Or are they that aware of whats going on at tl.net.
That kinda scurs me on second thought.

I haven't received any email on my BNet account.
