If we did do this and I worked for blizzard I would just revoke the rights to the Beta from all those who tried to do this, so its not the best idea in my opinion lol. If we now start again with ESPORTS, it will be connected to the old goals and thus look stupid. About the real ID thing: A point has already been made, I don't think naming ourselves REALID has as much impact as "we know which school your children are attending".

The only real reason to go for same name would be in a protest against the revealation of personal identifiable information on their forums in case of you posting. However that is of less concern to ingame issues and would honestly imo. be an overreaction.

It wasn't because of the lack of identifiers, it was because Blizzard didn't adress or respond to the (very valid) concerns from the community at that time (including identifiers) - and how hard it would be to get SC2 a place in esports and arranging tournaments etc. All those issues have now been adressed, so I'm not gonna name myself ESPORTS like I did in the end of phase 1.

This will not change anything, and anyone with the name ESPORTS will look like someone who just whines even when you get what you wanted. We got our prestige and pride in our name back with indentifiers coming back. Can't use the same trick for getting everything, it will just look stupid and pointless.

Its only purpose was to differentiate two people with the same name if those two people ever happened to cross paths. In the box where you made your identifier, the game even told you that you'd rarely see the identifier - if you never see it, it's working as intended. Since some people were misusing the identifier by doing things like putting their real name, or stealing names in an obnoxious way (something like taking IdrA.IdrA right off the bat), they figured that they'd just automate the entire process by adding a three digit identifier. I for one see nothing wrong with a system like this.
