27th July there's an open period where every single Korean and Taiwanese person can enter the game for absolutely no fee. It's been mostly referred as "open beta" even if it's not really a beta at that point. This has nothing to do with the closed beta that will be available before the game launches the 27th of July. Hoping that there will be some more information regarding the closed beta when I wake up in the morning.

Please state your source for that statement. The free playtime was an addition to your WOW subscription, not the only way you can purchase it.

As far as I know the beta is just for testing, like a demo and wow thing is just an added bonus (if you have wow already) not that you NEED wow to buy sc2

I'd be shocked if beta came back up in Korea today.

He's misreading the portion of the game release statement in which those players that have wow subscriptions don't have to pay a fee for 1 month after getting the game. This only applies to those locations that have to pay fees, and it doesn't mean you need to have a wow account to play, just to play for free (after buying the game of course)

Well in Korea, there is no retail version of the game, only digital purchase. As far as I know, digital purchase won't be available until awhile after the game has been released. So the only real way to 'buy' the game in korea at launch is to add it into your wow account and not everyone plays wow. So that's why theres a 'free' open beta in Korea.

Apparently Koreans aren't as enthralled about the sequel as was originally hoped.
