In a Beta, patches and fixes get rolled out way more frequent and early than in a release situation. That's why it's a Beta, they can fuck things up and correct them right on, instead of checking that everything is okay. I do not think that they will continue this way after release, so be patient.

Well,apparently WoW is down for maintenance...and it affects all battlenet 2.0...why should a SC2 player wait for a WoW update(or something like that) ? It's just horse piss!

WoW maintenance has nothing to do with Battle.net 2.0 maintenance.
But it is kind of stupid that EU servers have so much downtime.

Yeah, same here. When I input my password it makes me go to the screen with my ID and avatar, but then it logs itself out T.T

edit: I tried to make a new ID from another email its the same, It asks me to create new character every time I write my password.

My StarCraft II beta installation keeps updating like an asshole... And same problem here.. can't login...

Logging with the editor on EU server you can see this message:
Character profile could not be selected: PROFILE_DATABASE_ERROR
That's the cause of the hidden character image while you login in the game the first time and the back to menu issue

The same is happening with me...getting logged in but when I press enter it gets me back to the login screen....
