Effort is on a 2 game losing streak vs. Zerg, but he was on a 6 game winning streak before he met Jaedong and YellOw[ArnC]. YellOw[ArnC] is on a 2 game winning streak against Zerg.
If EffOrt loses, then Jaedong and YellOw[ArnC] advance to the Ro8.
fantasy is on a 9 game winning streak, but in that streak, only 1 win was against a Zerg, OversKy. Before his game against OversKy, he dropped the last two games against Zerg (vs. Calm and Hogil). type-b has not played a A/S class Terran since his previous loss to fantasy 10 games ago.
If type-b wins, it is highly likely that he'll advance to the Ro8 since he can probably roll over BackHo. If fantasy wins, a three way tie is possible if he loses to Stork.
Only go.go is coming into tonight's OSL off of a loss. The last game that he won was against HyuN, which contributed to HyuN's 10 game losing streak. The game before he lost against GoRush, which broke GoRush's 6 game losing streak against Terran. ZerO is coming into this game with the worst overall record of all 8 players. He is on a 3 game winning streak against Terran.
Regardless of whoever wins, ZerO vs. Bisu is going to be a pivotal game.
EffOrt is 0-2 against YellOw[ArnC], but I think the key difference in this encounter between the two is the map. EffOrt generally does better in ZvZ on larger maps, while YellOw[ArnC] specializes in 2 player maps such as Battle Royal and Destination. EffOrt's beaten Jaedong before, he can beat YellOw[ArnC].
Bonjwa Note or not, fantasy is going to win this one. Although statistically type-b has a 69% win rate against Terran, he's dropped games to all decent Terrans such as fantasy and Upmagic. fantasy on the other hand has learned a shiny new valkyrie + mnm build and will probably put that to good use on Holy World SE since Holy World is pretty bad for mech.
Although go.go recently demolished a certain Protoss player, I don't really think it was particularly great play by go.go, more of fail play by the certain Protoss player. ZerO on the other hand is coming off of wins against sKyHigh and Hwasin. Zergs have also started to figure out what to do on Outsider, so I don't think that go.go stands a chance.
by.hero has great ZvZ. Definitely not on par with a lot of S class Zergs, but it's definitely better than Kwanro's. Since the map is Heartbreak, the game is probably going to come down to Mutalisk Micro, and by.hero has Kwanro beat in that area.
YArnC > Effort Cus this makes a easy road for my BackHo fantasy > type-b Im sorry type-b but you need to lose! if you win backho is dead T_T Zero>gogo easy one for Zero by.hero > kwanro cus by.hero is mini-july and I have to root for july/mini-july... but I think that Kwanro is going to win, he is only practice ZvZ + Show Spoiler +
I screwed up in the Statistics and Odds and Ends section so I fixed that.
AlwaysGG: If EffOrt loses, there's no way that either he or Flash can get back in this. If EffOrt wins, then it will come down to EffOrt vs. Flash to see who advances since I'm assuming that Jaedong will crush YellOw[ArnC]
It is fact that whenever the game can go one way or the other, then kona's predictions will always be the opposite of reality. This is bad for my predictions
Who else is watching tonight only because of their foolish hope that Flash will move on? This is probably the first time I have cared about the outcome of a ZvZ.
On July 03 2009 18:52 HuskyTheHusky wrote: can someone please explain why effort winning means flash is still in it? Does it have to do with the W/L ratios in his group? Thanks!
cause if jaedong and flash wins next time, flash effort and yarnc are 1/3 and jaedong 3:0, meaning they play each other and first one that goes 2:0 advances

Flash is currently 0-2.
Fake yellow was 1-0. Winning this would make him 2-0 and move on along with JD. now that he's 1-1, he could lose another so that three players Effort, Flash, and Fake yellow would have 1-2, assuming Flash wins his game, forcing a tiebreaker
Why you people never include mms://stream.gundam.eu/ogn stream? Great quality, it works great for people from Europe, I don't get "buffer time" for entire match and I have pretty bad connection.

jaedong is 2-0 flash is 0-2 yarnc is 1-1 effort is 1-1
If jaedong beats yarnc(which he will) and flash beats effort they will all be 1-2 while jaedong advances. And the 3 battle it out.
lol how are ppl saying that was a "comeback??" You guys serious? Yeah it was a noob mistake to go for hatchery over spire, but he did TREMENDOUS eco damage while receiving none on his own and matching muta count. That's an automatic GG in ZvZ. I don't care if he burnt away a bunch of lings. He killed like 8 drones there. Yarnc did well to take out Effort's nat hatch, but way too little too late by then. He had to waste so many larvae trying to rebuild a few drones, his minerals were all f-ed up so he had to rely on scourge, and so he would never keep control of his skies.
Only chance Lux would have had was to go for some kind of evo/turtling from then on out, and rely on constant ling harass to keep Effort penned up in his base until Yarnc could equalize the muta count, but no way in hell would he be able to do that behind on eco. It was OVER soon as effort's lings bought time for his mutas to go drone raping.

Thanks for sharing. Although it is kind of behind Mystlord's channel, it is better quality and it isn't laggy at all.

I think this stream broadcast every OGN games, at least I watched there every game listed at TL Calendar.
It seems it's pretty unknown, wondered why people never include it in list of streams.

If effort and yarnc wins then three players will be 2:1 which means tiebreakers between all 3.

Tiebreaker for first and second place between JD Effort and Yarnc and Flash will be out .
Well let's go rest of the Sparkyz team. I'd like at least one Sparkyz player in Ro8. Which shouldn't be that hard since GoGo and Tybe-B already won one game.
mms://stream.gundam.eu/ogn is my stream, and it wasn't up until a few days ago. Since so many people use Mogulus/etc. to watch now I decided to start hosting a stream again for the people who can't, as the load wont be as high as it used to be.

Thanks a lot man, appreciate it, the quality is sick good and lagless basically.

thanks everyone for explaining the current scores to me, I was a little confused at how exactly it works but I can see how flash can still advance. Thanks!

I hope Tybe-B doesn't try for Infested Terrrans like Zero did, it didn't really seem to help Zero in his game vs Hwasin, it just seemed to make the game longer.

Thanks for stream man, I was watching last few days games on it, it's perfect.
P.S. And sorry if I shared link to stream if I wasn't supposed, I am pretty new to "SC scene" and found link on some public forum, thought it is well known so wondered why ppl never include it in stream list at PL/SL topics.

That's some sexy quality over there. Thanks buddy !
type-b is really screwed. He's trying to go straight mutas (for whatever reason) against this biovalk build. He better get some better muta micro or he's going to get screwed ovver late game.
On July 03 2009 19:17 NovaTheFeared wrote: This is pitiful from Type-b. If your 2 hatch muta doesn't crack a hole in the terran early you cannot possibly continue massing muta against mm/valk.
This is extremely true.
I even said it basically nullfies the muta harass yet type b apparently didnt hear me and kept going with it anyways
it looked like fantasy used some new kind of valk micro to me. the valks somehow turned away from target before shooting, it also seemed like they got an even bigger range. whatever, gonna wait for the vod to check out.
It seems lower tier progamers have difficulties changing their builds when their initial plans don't work out properly. I think its because they become uncomfortable with the timings at that point.

I thought once valks start shooting, the rest of the missiles will reach the target regardless?

Its not only lower tier progamers, Lux and JD do it too, because they are goddamn stubborn, it works out for JD sometimes because of his godlike micro.
I'm really curious to see the voting stats for these next two matches. I dont think there is an EXTREME favorite to win in either matchup... nothing like 98% to 2% or anything at least. The last two games were pretty obvious who the favorites were.

It did look like he was doing something funky there... Like retreating his valks during the prefiring animation then shooting the mutalisks backwards haha

I noticed this as well. I'm looking forward to the VOD at least to see exactly what it is that happened. Maybe this will make Valk's even more popular? Possibly giving them a chance against scourge/mutas. I doubt it though, they still died pretty fast there at the end if I saw correctly. Not that it mattered.
Man fantasy's vult micro there was so cute..ignoring the lings completely to not waste shots so he could maximize drone kills before the mutas were out. So so nice.

maybe I'm just becoming used to watching those 350+ players. But I'd expect the best harassing Terran in the world to have Bisu/Jaedong like speeds which his fpvod showed he doesn't.

Fantasy actually built turrets, Flash didn't..
Yarnc also went 12 pool 11 gas before hatch...
The game was totally different. No comparison between the 2.

Also wanted to note as long as the mutas are in range when the valks begin their attack animation all the missles will hit/follow the mutas as far as it takes.
I don't understand Fantasy's TvZ at all...it's like he somehow just gets zerg players to waste all their energy trying to scourge his valks over and over until he gets 2 control groups of M&M then moves out and runs them over without even building a tank because they didn't even get a hydra den.

Bisu has about 350apm iirc. Fantasy was about that last game. Jaedong (along with Nada) is one of the fastest out there... Its safe to say Jaedong apm >> bisu apm

Besides max apm is what matters as far as harassing/multitasking goes. Average apm or "apparent speed" on that particular moment you were watching is much less important.
I love the build zero is using this game. The same as yarnc used against flash. Its really good against the build gogo is using as long as he plays it right.
firebats are being produced from the rax placed @ the top of the map. 2 BATS AND MEDIC ARE COMING ! ZERO HAS TO RUN WITH DRONES ! Sunkens @ net preventing him from sniping more drones.
ZerO is opting to go mass mutas, which is probably going to work considering that go.go is only working off of 1 base right now, so go.go will be hard pressed to both safeguard his main and take an expansion.
I thought gogo was going to bust there for a sec as the sunk placement was not too good vs SK and more anti tank and not anti SK but Zero managed to defend
A relatively poor plague, but guardians are moving into go.go's natural. Irradiate takes them all out, but vessels now have less energy to use against ultras and defilers. 3 Ultras for ZerO, and he's running off of 4 gas.

Hatch goes down at the cost of a mutalisk of Kwanro, so he's about even with hero on gas count now. However, Kwanro's economy is much worse than hero's.
Awesome! Now if Hero just beats Canata he will advance. I think he's worked on his ZvZ a lot since getting mangled by Jaedong in the last OSL, hopefully his other matchups haven't fallen out of shape though.
