Yea. Gay BGM btw lol. Anyway, my analysis of game 5: Fantasy knew that Jaedong knew he'll go mechanic again, so he assumed Jaedong will get Den again (because Hydras counter vultures). Jaedong used this psychological factor to get an even faster spire and throw off Fantasy's timing. If you noticed, had Fantasy bought like a minute or two, he would have had two valkyries already, with turrets and MnM. Jaedong made use of Fantasy's mindset extremely well. game 1 was really really good by fantasy (get it?) game 2 and 3 were pretty bad; 4 was much more exciting though fantasys harass could have been better but game 5 was just epic epic epic. expect for the drone loss early on the _perfect_ counter to the fantasy build, the 2ling/drone taking down the vult alone was just insane, oh boy i screamed like a girl when i saw it | ||

Proxy Factory failed, Mutas owned Cloaked Wraith. It was over. 5th game: 2Hatch Mutas raped Fantasy. Props to JD. So much pressure, and he pulled it off with the 3 wins. You're neglecting all of the mind games and preparations that both players put into each game. It wasn't like Jaedong just impulsively went 2 hatch each game. As I watched the games, I was able to see how much effort and preparation went into each build. Some builds failed, other builds succeeded. You miss the big picture if you neglect the reason why the players did what they did. Cheesy build, failed rush -- an average ICCup gamer will take a lame, unthought, risky, all-in build. The players you saw today thought for MANY MANY hours and prepared these builds in order to secure maximum win likelihood. The valkyrie opening meant to counter Jaedong's unstoppable mutas. The 8rax opening to throw off Jaedong. Jaedong's realization that Fantasy builds Valkyries and therefore making scourge + muta (seriously, who makes scourge + muta against Terrans). There was a constant cat and mouse psychological game going on, and missing that makes the series a whole lot more boring. | ||
