Heh... I will admit I tuned in specifically to watch IdrA, so no. Great solid play by IdrA I think Trap took a little risk that last game and expanded like mad knowing IdrA had no problems playing a longer game.

It's a pity, that he lost, but now we finally see the progamer's training paying off. He was almost flawless mechanically, only his decision making/strategy failed him. Good fight nonetheless. He should do better in near future.

an astute observation

people seem to forget that idra is basically learning the game from scratch while he's in korea because of how differently korean pros play the game

goddd his play was so fucking sick, better than i thought he'd play and i watch him play all the goddamned time

its a pity trap was 10x better than i thought he was too

Can people please stop this? "1 fac expand" though a bit too general to be called a build in and of itself is the standard, very very rarely will you see progamers do anything else.
Also why is everyone saying these were his first games? Why doesn't his msl qualis last season count?

Didn't he play vs July for MSL qualis? It wasn't televised. This is his first live televised match.

The vod had korean commentary so that means that they casted a replay or something?

I think its safe to say that practicing for over a year now, in CJ non the less and loosing in the first round of 256 is bad.

He showed decent matches, but i think that after a year of 12 hours practice you must at least show decent games.

Idra should just retire, i don't see him ever getting more than round 1

With that kind of logic, then a lot of koreans should be retiring as well.

trap is definitely no push-over, he is probably 3rd/4th in the pecking order of the stx house in terms of protosses imo

first game was great by idra. but he has to vary his playstyle more, trap could adapt easily to idras standard bo. with some more different strats idra could become a really awesome player.

Hmm, for me Trap played pretty bad... Did everything he could to lose the game3, but his superior eco made it impossible. He looked kinda fucking skilless newbie...

what risk? he countered Idra's style perfectly. While Idra turtles hardcore and tries to expand, the best protoss can do is to mass expo and gateways like crazy. That's exactly what Trap did and he won easily with 8k left in bank at the end -.-

All of these players practice that much... that doesn't really have much to do with it when you get to this point. What matters is can your break your own obstacles and can you raise your level of play progressively higher.

agreed, he is as easy to read as a children's picture book.
all you need to do is to do something really weird and that will throw him off and thus make it much harder for him to adapt to it.

He's part of a team you dipshit.
Do you think ALL B-team players should just give up? Of course not, because they help the A-team practice. The CJ coach himself credited their B-team for the help they gave towards the WL win.
