The only reason im cheering for Bisu here is for July's sake. Yay Bisu -.- *retch*
Hwasin, please.. please win. Give me a Terran to cheer for please, with Flash out I have no other choice and you're basically my second favorite Terran. Don't fail guy, don't fail.

First and last time I'm rooting for Bisu.

GGPLAY YEAHHHH
Give us a good game, who cares if you're not getting a spot in the Ro8.

If Jaedong beats GGPLAY, he'll break the elo record for vs Z.

Bisu might actually drop a game for his ex teammate, but it seems to me they had this talk already and July did not agree.
Anyway, going to be an interesting night.

expecting
Bisu < Sin Chupung-Ryeong > YellOw[ArnC] Bisu owns PvZ on all maps that dont begin with "Tears" and end with "Moon". He'll show his stellar PvZ and like Stork, run over poor Yarnc.
by.hero < Medusa > fantasy Oh man. By.Hero had a great starleague run. Eliminating Bisu from the MSL playing great in the WL. No doubt this new face has been on fire recently. Unfortunatly, Fantasy is ANGRY. His royal road denied, Fantasy is on a warpath, and will take down any poor Z and T players in his way. I expect Fantasy to show his amazing mech play, on..ironically, the same map he revolutionized it on.
Hwasin < Tears of the Moon > UpMagiC This matchup will be intense. You heard it here folks. The only two names to recently beat Flash in a TvT are going at it. Hwasin recently beat Flash in the MSL ro16, and Upmagic recently also beat Flash in one of the GREATEST TvT's of all time. (Legit..i shit my pants while watching that game) UpMagiC in my belief is the incarnation of Boxer. He thought process is on the level of that of Nal_Ra, Boxer and Nada. However, his mechanics are not. Hwasin has the experiance, and the fire in him, that will in my belief, give him this close close game.
Jaedong < Return of the King > GGPlay Who is GGPlay??(no..i'm not serious) But i haven't really seen GGPlay since he (somehow..) took out Flash in the Daum OSL. Jaedong is angry~ You can tell. That MSL group must have given him a huge headache because he promptly tore ACE to shreds the next day. With the MSL out of the way, GGPlay, as well as any programmer will have a hard time taking this freaking train down

When checking the R&S thread, I just realized that 3/4 picks for OSL champ have been eliminated (Flash, GGPlay, and Tester), while my least favorite player (Bisu) has already advanced.
ASDF, GOGO UPMAGIC (and Yarnc/GGPlay, show us a great game)

Bisu better win or else July will sit on him. I was hoping that July would win this OSL. However, the brackets tell me that if he advances after the tie breaker, he will face Jaedong. So, I guess July is in a really bad situation. Maybe next year?
Baa?21242 Posts
July does rely heavily on his exceptional micro though. ZvZs have a good thing going with the whole low-econ style of play, and I think July can still give Jaedong a run for his money.
But of course, ZvZ is also synonymous with crapshoot and BO loss, so again, anything can happen. July hwaiting!
July has beaten Jaedong in a bo3 in the past so dont count him out.

Bisu -Yarn vs the best Toss on a balanced map, advantage best toss UpMagiC-Up's cheese will succeed, GG by.hero-Fantasy's cheese will fail, by.hero will roll him over Tyrant

So what are all the possibilities going into these games? All I know is that if Bisu wins there will be a tie breaker of some kind.
On February 20 2009 15:11 cronican wrote: So what are all the possibilities going into these games? All I know is that if Bisu wins there will be a tie breaker of some kind.
Bisu wins, three way tiebreaker between July/Stork/Yellow (one of these three advance). Bisu loses, Bisu and Yellow advance. *Note: Bisu has already advanced no matter what.
Fantasy wins, Fantasy and Leta advance. Fantasy loses, Fantasy, Leta, and by.hero have a three way tiebreaker (two of these three advance)
Best has already advanced. Winner of Hwasin vs. Up advances.
Jaedong and Luxury have both already advanced.

mutas are out, but bisu has a couple of corsairs fending them off, meanwhile lurkers are sieging the nat from behind the cliff killing probes and yarnc is guarding them with his lings this time
yarnc doesn't even want to win
oh, bisu loses all his ground units trying to kill the force at his nat but the two lurkers survive
On February 20 2009 18:51 Zzoram wrote: yarnc doesn't even want to win
Don't be stupid if he wins he's through.
Fuck. I wish I had a stable stream.
yarnc keeps harassing bisus nat but speedlots are out
mutas kill a few probes at bisus main, but mutas go down, now archons and dt fighting lurks and hydras in middle
overlords going down
yarnc takis his 3rd and goes for a hydra lurk harrass from behind bisu's nat, but is held off
so far it's zeal/corsairs vs hydra/lurker/muta; the mutas can't do much because bisu has ~6 sairs
Is there an alternate VLC stream perhaps? The one posted doesn't seem to be working for me
mutas getting a ton of probes as archons try to take them down
bisu killing yarnc's 3rd
mutas run by sairs and all die

my stream quality is too low, but is yarnc behind 90 vs 60 supply?

Really nice pylon wall by bisu at his 3rd ^^
Bisu's 3d down but the Hydras/Lurkers there are cornered...
yarnc taks down bisu's 3rd
still 2v2 bases
Yarncs dropping on bisus 3rd. Cant report more because stream died T_T
Bisu will have to throw the game to lose it now.
oh god, failed storm dodge
and lol 3 more ovies down
and double lol so many lurker eggs dying...
yarnc has a big force outside bisu's nat
but storms keep holding it off
This game completely lacks any excitement -_- Looks like July will get his chance. I hope Stork doesn't grow a new pair all of a sudden.
expecting gg in < 1 minute

pretty sad to watch; yarnc can't really do anything and storms are hurting him big time

it feels like yarnc is desperately trying to do anything he can and bisu just doesn't really care about the game that much

Judging by how little Bisu cared about the game, it's possible.

Only 1 way i can see this as possible now that i think about it.... and ONLY 1 way....
Kind of like the WCG situation where it is known for koreans to throw a game to get into different seats. The only way i see it possible is if that person is from the same team.. IE SKT vs SKT.
I'm sure you can figure the rest out.

Btw: I love this VLC stream... astonishing quality... no buffering... yay.

first off he wouldn't have had to play jaedong unless osl changed their bracket policies, it's randomized, second, if anything his non forge fast expand build showed he actually practiced for the match, considering it was non-standard.
he probably did it because yarnc is a high threat to rush, and not a threat late game.

he probably did it because yarnc is a high threat to rush, and not a threat late game. i'm pretty sure the OSL brackets aren't randomized. I seem to remember a big misunderstanding in the past, everyone was saying iris or someone threw a game to avoid bisu back in 2007, when it turned out he wouldn't have even had to play him because the brackets weren't pre-established like everyone predicted.
even looking back on the last two osls the formula seems to be different.

Fantasy went for the economy advantage, he use 8rax as defense thats why he did not attack at any moment and let hero gather tons of gas for those mutas

summary of what happened so far:
up goes standard rax/gas timing hwasin gets a economic late rax
up goes for a 1fact1star build very wraith heavy. he goes for the 2 wraith + tank + rine contain hwasin goes for 1factCC and then another factory.
hwasin scouts it with scv and pulls scvs and manages to get upmagic away from his nat ramp.
upmagic goes back and gathers tanks and sets up a mini contain but hwasin breaks a 4 tank contain with 1 tank + gol + scv + rines.
so hwasin has his nat CC running for a super long time and he goes for a counter wraith, pew pewing at upmagic's tanks now.
wraiths from hwasin going to pew pew tanks, up's armory building
hwasin 84 supply...
upmagic .... 47
dropship for hwasin -> tank, 2 goliaths in the back of upmagic' main.
upmagic pushes out, then retreats almost instantly.
this been over since up's initial push got broken ;o
upmagic clears out his main, but was forced to move scvs away losing mining time.
hwasin @ 3 dropships now.
3 drop ships for Hwasin 3 tanks for Up.
3 dropships out for hwasin, this is over
edited because it's not gg yet
101 supply vs 44 in favor of hwasin
Up is going for the Hwasin ziziy0.
hwasin picks up 12 oclock expo. Then corners upmagic into 1/3 of the map with turrets/tank line
lol 123 to 64 and hwasin has 1500 minerals
upmagic pushes out around 5 oclock.
Hwasin takes the other main.
hwasin counters with push on upmagic's natural.

de javu or i am too tired
jaedong shows manly instincts in going gas before pool thanks to the crosspositions which he ahd no way of knowing about
uh oh... lots of lings in jaedong's base
this is over!
lol, ggplay getting spire. Jaedong not starting his yet. this is so over...
edit: gg from JD
6 lings JD, 8 lings GG meet at JD's ramp.
Speed finishes for GGplay, massive advantage for GGplay.
JD doenst even have a spire. GGplay's currently building
Another lame ZvZ for the ages. Good thing it didn't affect anything this time, I guess.

i hope JD doesn't do something retarded in this game. just because he already advanced. bah, whatever.

holy shit ramp fail costs jaedong the game just like that
i wonder how did the liquibet looked on this one????
A very unexpected win by ggplay, well at least it saved him his pride from going 0-3.
LOL funny. Good thing that didn't really count
Oh no.. There goes one win for his ZvZ..

WTH, i went for a walk with dog, come back and JD loses.

It happens every time he gets close. If it were any other matchup, I'm sure he would have long since passed it. ZvZ at a competitive level is so ridiculously lame most of the time.
Can someone summarize who advanced and who is out please?
I really wish this had counted, it would have made my night.
Haha GG Jaedong in losing this :D
YEAH GO GGPLAY
I missed it because my stupid lame ISP finds it fun to pull the plug on my internet at random times.

i just updated the liquibets:

jesus.... recap:
6 vs 8 lings at JD's ramp, which -> 1 vs 3 in favor of GGplay.
lings come for JD so its back to 3v3, then GGplay reinforces to 5v5 eventually. GGplay then gets 7 vs 7 and rapes the shit outta JD with like 6v1 after the bloodbath.
JD fights back with lings/drones and proceeds to get raped, meanwhile putting down a 2nd hatchery?
JD gg's once he has like 7 drones/no spire.
Or something around those lines...
WOW thank you for the feel good worth nothing for ggplay! he needs the pity win! he still looks so sad after winning =(
did jaedong have some gosu reason for breaking his line on his ramp? I don't understand why he would attack forward there, can anyone explain how that wasn't just a huge blunder?
JD obviously did not care about this match. It's the only explanation.

He sucked it up pretty badly this OSL though.
i think ggplay feels like jd didnt give it his all. i mean jd really shouldve plopped down a sunken at least or tried to anyway..... so he's pissed. like he totally didnt get taken srrsly =(

Bisu in, July Stork and Yarnc fight for 1 spot.
Leta by.hero and fantasy fight for 2 spots into ro8
Hwasin and Best into ro8
Jaedong and Luxury into ro8.

Group C: Hwasin advances as #1 Best advances as #2
Group D: Jaedong advances as #1 Luxury advances as #2

Do you guys know the format for Ro8?

Regardless if he would have won or lost it doesn't matter, my point still stands. If Jaedong had lost to GGplay and it had counted I wouldn't have kept the mirth from my face for a good solid hour.

FFS I always forget about this when doing my LB.
Whenever Jaedong hits 80% ZvZ, he ALWAYS loses his next ZvZ.

idk whats more impressive that by.hero had 500 apm in his win vs fantasy, or that ggplay actually beat jaedong.

My personall oppinion is that he dropped the game. It's true that it won't benefit anyone since the group was over even before this round, but a player with an 80% record in zvz doesn't do that kind of errors.

What would be his motivation to drop the game?
All this speculation about pros throwing games seems silly, it seems far more likely to me that he just made a mistake... unless there's some really good reason he broke his line which I'm too noob to understand. Hence my question.

Okay I could have fucking sworn i read the results before as Upmagic > Hwasin
HWASIN WON!!???

Yeah, there was a joke in the original post that had fake results up, and it wasn't edited until midway through the game series so there was a lot of confusion. Hwasin won handily.

80% ISN'T 100%. He's gonna lose some games from time to time you know.

how does flash not advance to a ro8 of a starleague again its like neo sea[shield] syndrome

true and he probably didnt even practice for this, coz he has other games to prepare for, and seeing he already qualified for ro8 first why should he win this. This game was a consolation for GGplay

Not quite. He's already won an OSL remember.

Considering he got eliminated last week, that would be kind of difficult.
Good results today. We could have as many as 4 Zergs in the Ro8. That would be awesome.
It's not the first time in OSL a player already in playing a player already out just gave up.
I don't mind I'm happy jaedong just qualify and its not like I ll vote against jd evenif he wantas to drop the game
lol, you think GGPlay practiced for that match either? They were both on even ground in that they both probably didnt care, and its a ZvZ anyways. Go Hwasin!! and umm July.
Now the real question who do people want to lose more, Bisu or now Luxury?
Lolol ggplay won. God damnit i bet for jaedong on liquibet and he lost. At least Bisu won :D
When the tie breakers are going to be played?
Aw...Jaedong's ZvZ is now less than 80% again...
JD!
If July advances and hero places first in tiebreakers they gotta face each other
I really dislike the "throwing the game" comments. We all know that JD is the best ZvZer on earth, but seeing has he's lost 20% of his games, that means there is a chance that he can do mistakes. This guy rarely gets outplayed, not by anyone or any race, so usually it's down to his own faults and this was sucha case most likely.
<3 JD, destroy this OSL!

No one would ever say it in public. Admitting it would tarnish their image and possibly career. Sometimes throwing a game puts them in an advantage situation if they threw their game so that the opponent which is the biggest threat tocan be eliminated or helping a friend advance.
