identical, mirrored builds so far, all the way into robo. Both are retreating, guarding at nat, and waiting for their first reaver. Bisu just got robotics support, and much faster than stork, so i'm guessing that bisu skipped shuttle and went straight to reaver to help defend

Stork with about 6 goons and 1 zeal and Bisu with 6 goons. Bisu is getting a support bay and keeping his goons in his choke between his main and his natural. Stork looks liek he is trying to apply pressure and is keeping his goons in the middle of the map.

I don't see the point in Stork's second gateway placement.

Bisu with a nice semi circle in his main. It does look like Stork has more goons. Stork with a support bay also and has his units set up in a spread out arc in the middle of the map. Bisu with a shuttle and reaver and he is moving out.

bisu's really far behind, as he dosen't have anywhere near as many probes as stork does. bisu knows this, and tries to harass stork's main, he probably manages to nail 5 probes. stork loses his reaver in a harass attempt however (and shuttle) and he only gets 2 probes. Bisu has worse econ, but stork is down on reaver count

oh man, this is redic. bisu tries to harass again with 2 reavers, and he gets 4 probes. STork is in trouble, as if he keeps running his probes away he's not going to be able to have the income to keep his macro advantage. bisu knows that without a shuttle, stork can't really defend in 2 places at once.

bisu decides that he has enough defense to expand, with 3 reavers and a shuttle. every second that stork waits now puts him further and further behind. Stork needs to scout this expansion, but i'm not sure that he's going to get a chance to.
man that's a lot of people watching these games.
stork still hasn't starting his own expansion yet, and he just scouted bisu's starting his own expansion. STork has nowhere newar enough units to pressure, but it looks like he's going to try anyway.

stork trying to shoot down the backdoor temple with reavers, he needs this attack to work becuase he dosen't have an expansion otherwise. bisu spots it with his obs, and he should be able to use his reinforcement s to defend.

bisu's got this the next time he attacks- bisu has 3 reavers to defend, stork has a slightly higher goon count. Stork's going to need to get his next expo up faster than bisu (like 2 min faster) to be able to gain an advantage that lets him win, but he's going to need to survive that long.

bisu's macro advantage is starting to show already, and he's moving in to pressure stork. stork snipes the shuttle, and is trying to snipe the reavers, can stork hold? it's goingt o be close, and it really depends on if his next round of goons can come out fast enough

Great play by Bisu, but man was that close... thought it was over for sure when his reavers were way out of position and he didn't even get any probes for it. Really fortunate he caught the temple antics and got his troops in position above the ramp. Just glad reaver scarabs didn't cost him 2 games today. :>

Yeah, that game was pretty awesome from the scarabs trying to find their targets, and like the two big battles that ended up with like 2 goons and a reaver for each side, especially at the end there with just reavers running around without shuttles.

those situations were completely different. Stork did a build where it's _okay_ to lose your shuttle/reaver as long as you kill a lot of probes. this is getting a huge advantage by killing your opponent's probes and throwing it away suiciding your reaver/shuttle lol. expo would have sealed the game ughhhh.

Stork's initial attack was so effective, especially when Bisu's reaver was on the other side of the map. Suiciding his reavers wasn't too good - why didn't he do the same harass style Bisu did, firing scarabs from the higher ground? Too greedy

Not really, Stork has the best sair/reaver control, better than Bisu, I can say, despite having the lower apm, hell Flash's apm is around the same range despite the legends of him having 400. What mattered was stork's decision making not an exta 50 apm.

Any of you people with problems running the VLC stream using a wireless connection? I know that I can only stream starcraft when I am connected directly to my router with a cat5. If I am not it will be a slideshow or only work for a second. GOM works fine on wireless though.

I have 128k dsl connection in california .... and I just load up daum sports, and hit f5 every time that it doesn't start buffering in chunks of 15-20% like 15-28-39-66-79 ... ect. It normally takes 2 or 3 tries to get a perfect stream.

Mm I see. Deception and it doesn't cost Stork much ... lol Bisu knows Stork too well, the game still turned into a symmetrical battle of mirror buids and it all came down to micro and unit positioning, and expansion/temple break choices. Definitely one of the best PvP battles I've seen.

Yeah, obviously. The point is his build was basically a mirror of Stork's with a slightly faster robo, so why risk it? He had an easier drops due to spawns, but still...

first medic is already out for leta, and he puts down his first fact. if leta has too low of mnm numbers, the 2 hat muta is going to punish him. however, he already has his comsat up, and he's putting down his second rax.

1 base tech build? i have no idea what leta is trying to do, as he's putting down a starport as well. This is basically the classic fantasy build, including the vult drop if he tries it, except he dosen't have any vultures. Ebay is out, turrets are up, muta are morphing, and i getss leta is going 1 base with 2 rax into science vessels. Interesting...

range upgrade is finished for marines, as is stim from the super early acad, so by.hero is going to need to be careful to make sure that he dosen't lose any to the upgraded marines. first science vessel is going to be out in another half minute or so, so by.her's window is getting smaller.

by.her is going to try to run through the backdoor to get to let's nat and counter, but it's going to leave by.hero shorthanded at the front of his base.

leta has his expo up, by.hero needs to get his third gas quickly so that he can progress on his tech. dropship out for leta, and it's scouted by an ovie and a group of lings.
wow, let's dropships don't get hit, the first time, it takes about 4 scourge to take down the dropship.
by.hero tries to use a lurker to harass the nat, although ididn't see if it got any kills or not .
by.hero trying to push letas nat, but his lurkers are in a bad position, and don't get as many kilss as they should

by.hero has about 3 lurks and a ton of lings left, but i don't know if it's going to be enough to kill the nat. he keeps pushing leta back, and even though leta's got 3 rax (and is tossing up a fourth) his marine count is still slightly low (about 2 control groups of marines?) he's also got 3 science vessels)
finally, the tv shows by.hero expanding to the 1 nat or main, which should allow himt o get his third gas. Hive tech is morphing, but i think it's going to be too late for by.hero, even if leta dosen't scout it

hive tech is finished, defiler mound needs to be started, but it's like by.hero left the drone there and forgot about it. leta just scouted the third from the fpvod, and it looks like he sent a dropship out to go try and drop either the main or the expansion (expansion seems more likely, as it's moving up the right edge of the map)

defiler mound is now out, i hope to heck it's researching consume, and it appears that right now by.hero is going to live until he makes it to hive tech.
his third might go down though, as leta's pushing it with a control of mnm. by.hero pushes the nat with a bunch of lurkers, but i don't know what he's planning on accomplishing. dark swarm goes up over the lurkers, but he's not going to be able to mail all of the tanks and such that's underneath the swarm
3 dswarms over leta's nat, and now by.hero has no units to be able to deal with it. how sad.

I think it was just 1 ling. Speedlings moved in and took down the refinery and then ran off. Pretty useful, cuts into Leta's gas eco and prevents too big of a vessel cloud.
Leta finally takes down Hero's third and expands. This is looking bad for Hero.

that was really nice play by by.hero, especially with the agressive muta, and then the lurker followup. I think that by.hero lost his advantage when he pushed badly into leta's nat, and lost a ton of his lurkers. He also let by.hero's science vessel count get fairly high, but given how leta's been playng, i'm not sure what by.hero could have done about that. Is that nevergg taking photos of leta?

It's actually a really really cool game. It's one of the oldest games still around, and the same game has never been played twice (or so they say). It's really deep, and being good at it is really really hard. The skill curve is huge -_-;;

I'd say Chess is definitely more entertaining for modern times. Go is 100% strategy. The most strategic game played, and quite boring unless you have ridiculous patience.
Edit: Anyway, Go Hwasin.I root for him because it seems he always get picked on by Bisu. And he has to face Jaedong/FBH/Flash tomorrow. So hopefully he does well in the OSL.

and best gets a manner pylon in, trapping two scv's. cool. after a 14 cc though, so it shouldn't matter that much. best cancels it as well.

hwasin might have just decided that letting best macro away with a 13 nex was too great of a risk anyway, so he might as well 13 cc and hope that he could get away with it.

hwasin sieges way too late, but best was careless and lost all of his goons. Best is going to fight with zeals only, and try to get all of the vults.
arb is out, but it's not going to be able to do enough, becuase hwasin already got his comsat. things look bad for best, as his nex is already getting hammered.

my current guess is that hwasin scouted the fast third at the back of best's base, and there's two responses that T uses for that- one is to do some sort of timing push that is able to hit while protoss is weak (like a 4 fact 2 base fast push) and the other one is dropships. I guess hwasin liked the former and not the latter, and it seems to be working for him.
mines are planted outside of best's gates, best is going to try to recall looks like in hwasin's base.
i this is going to need to do basically game ending damage if this is going to do enough, but it dosen't look like it, as hwasin started to pull his units back a long time ago.

spire is already down for lux, jd is forced to fight at his own ramp with bad position, and gets eaten by slightly smaller ling numbers. JD hasn't gotten his second gas yet, he's been spnding his larve on lings to make sure that he can keep his second hat.

lux sneaks in two more lings, forces jd to stack his drones yet again. jd's got a ton of scourge, but he dosen't really have enough muta. 1 drone down, 2 drones down for jdand now jd has no muta to fight off lux's muta. this is gonna be tough.
lux has the good micro necessary to keep most of his muta alive vs ling scourge, and jd runs in trying desperatly to get the necessary drone kills to pull the game even

I mean, the real problem is that you have 6 lings vs at that point probably 9 drones. the drones have 40 hp each, and your zerglings only have 25. the damage per second of the zergling is double, but the drones can cheat and stack. as you can probably figure out, it's just tough for only 6 lings to do enough damage to be able to kill off the other player.

What jaedong has done his last two games on chup, is prove that a single muta + scourge is enough to deflect/beat 5 muta while a great eco kicks in.
Its impossible to scourge micro with ur back to a wall or when the scourge come from 3 sides, jaedongs scourging is the reason he is pulling off zvz unit compositions of 4 years ago!

so glad for '09, have seen already around 20 games of jaedong in '09 and its been a lil over a month.
Side note, its kind of amazing like some ppl have said. Recently in Jaedongs ZvZ (in a lot of them as a matter of fact), you think he is losing then the camera shifts to his opponents base, then on his. Its only then you see how much of a lead he's in.

4pool isn't used because 9pool gets lings right in time to counter the 4pool. Considering 9pool is the most popular build 4pool is abit of a risky idea.

There is another top toss same APM with bisu, that is jangbi and kal is pretty near bisu too. High apm always good in PvZ. In PVT and PvP dont matter. Best and stork have the lowest apm.

Lings have 35hp.
wtf is he babbling about. 6 lings vs 9 drones is autoloss for the drones unless the lings are micro'ed very poorly. The problem with 4pool is that usually by the time the lings get to the opponents base the pool will be finished and lings will come out to defend in due time, and so you will end up behind in drones.
