Pardon me for being dumb early in the morning but it works in WMP11 even when running Daum in the background coz I'm not hearing anything? Or did I just miss a seat out of the 1.000 available slots?
Actually, does anyone know when it technically is going to start? I only ask because I have to work tomorrow, so I need sleep, but if it'll be soon I at least want to see some LJD rape goin' on.
Where are they hosting this thing, Korean friend told me it was at KINTEX? Teams wearing jackets and cheerleaders wearing... well not jackets. During OSL finals KINTAX was not that cold.

Oh I agree, if Frozean wins, Samsung wins the entire thing right there.
Jaedong sure picked a good time to loose. I thought the Jaedong hype was a bit to much but this is killing me. I'm smiling like a kid in a house made out of candy.
While I'm happy that Frozean won the game, I'm annoyed that he won by doing the same thing Terrans always do on those map vs. Zerg, and it wins every time. It makes for a boring game.

It wasnt macro, jangbi spent a HUGE amount of resources on 2 reavers/dmg and speed shuttle upgrades and 2 shuttles. ForGG, despite losing a ton of scvs had a huggeee timing window to counter.

They're using maps from the finished proleague season as well as the one prior to that (the ones Samsung and Lecaf won). Thus, there's Chariots of Fire too.

Naw the game was over after he wasted his army trying to run down his ramp. ForGG was incredibly efficient in that fight. He wasted the whole army with very few loses. The expos were simply a desperation move in hopes he could survive long enough to get an eco advantage.
On February 16 2008 15:15 kramus wrote: What did jangbi do wrong there?
Barely any Zealots at all. Jangbi made DTs instead. I was expecting Carriers after he made a 2nd expo.
forgg got a huge the advantage from earlier 2nd expo and BO and he timed his attack so that it was before janbi's eco advantage from the 3rd expo + reaver kills kicked in

yeah true, I nearly forgot about that mass suicide w/ no flank. I think forGG kind of anticipated a flank via shuttle ferry and put goliathes near the edges of his clump
jangbi had enough units... he just had to run down his ramp to get into battle so they all came in in dribs and drabs and thus got raped.. also he didnt delay the push much and didnt try to set up a flank. prob just overconfident and/or paying too much attention to his 2 shuttle drop

I think stork didn't get shuttle because he simply could not afford the time/money at that moment. He needed immediate defense and in desperate situations, I guess 1 shuttle/reaver as supposed to 2 reavers without shuttle stand less of a chance? I dunno, some PvP expert enlighten me. Going speed zeals by stork, I felt, was a terrible mistake.
I think he skipped going goon range because he needed all the gas he could on unit production, and since he already had zealot speed, he tried to use zeal as a main attacking force, while using no range goons to help soften the targets, while the running zealots acted as decoy/protectors.

He was hoping for to kill Anytime with a timing speed zealot/reaver attack. But that builds didn't work out for Stork, as anytime went goon heavy/reaver. No shuttle and reaver micro doesnt help...

Um no? He didnt need to move out at all. He couldve stayed at the high ground. Notice there was a shuttle done after anytime had won the battle? He could have easily waited for his shuttle to finish before moving out to take another expansion or whatever. There was NO reason to move out when he did. It was just exposing a massive weakness which anytime perfectly exploited for the easy win.
Stork was behind, but he didnt need to be so careless. He couldve at least put up a fight.

The fact that he was moving out without a shuttle suggested he wanted to expand and didnt want to wait for the shuttle. Either way, a horrible decesion.

Anytime's ceremony was pretty cool though, flag waving victory man of war.

A big Fuck-you to anyone who's happy about seeing a player cry.
Sure you may hate or love FirebatHero, but saying that you want to see him cry more is rather over the line. They're not crying for enjoyment, or more fans, but because they already know that they already received a pretty bad punishment by losing games that they dearly wanted to win. They don't need a bunch of no-names such as you haters to keep rubbing it in.
Then again, I'm pretty sure he doesn't read this forum so your responses don't matter anyway.
And what is up with karma popping up and down everywhere still? Sure, it made sense when he had the losing streak against Savior, but now? He has a pretty good record in ProLeague, and he is still considered one of Samsung's best players. This is merely one loss, an unfortunate but regular occurrence in any progamer's career at any point.
On another aside of the double standard, I'm sure no one is going to complain about Anytime taking his shirt off and parading around obnoxiously. Sure, FireBatHero did the shirt-off-and-prance-around ceremony first and you might call it retribution, but if you don't like it so much, don't support either of them. Let progaming be the bland, stone-faced event that you all seem to want it to be, and keep bringing down a perfectly decent progamer in unfair, biased, and immature ways.

Mocks? The most "mocking" ones are him imitating a famous Korean comedian, which might have not been immediately obvious. By my perception of your definition, any ceremony is one that "mocks" the opponent. Just because he's done a ceremony a few times when winning against savior doesn't mean that he is purposely mocking him, or that the ceremony is even mocking.
Tool? Well that came out of nowhere.
Braggart? Why, every progamer has bragged to some point. In fact, I don't believe that Firebathero is especially notable in his bragging at all.
I may be wrong, but I think you hate him merely for beating Savior, and looked for reasons to justify that hate u_u Probably any ceremony that FirebatHero does to him would look mocking in your eyes...

Let progaming be the bland, stone-faced event that you all seem to want it to be, and keep bringing down a perfectly decent progamer in unfair, biased, and immature ways.
fbh hasn't done a quarter of what the players he consistently mocks have. i want to see the tool cry more because hes a braggart and deserves all the shit he gets.
You're trying to turn the obvious into something else
fuckfuckfuck im so fucking happy to read this, i wasn at my home when this game happende but fuck yes! in your ugly fucking face FBH, that is some fucking karma right there! I don't think Lecaf were the underdogs. They were coming in with a large momentum. Besides, Khan has slumped since their glory days of round 1. Lecaf is a stronger team at this point.

Those savior fanboys just need to gtfo of these forums.. its getting really annoying lately. Savior is dead.. he cant play shit nowadays, and its not FBH's fault he really sucks now. So move on with life, root for someone else instead of bashing other players. Other players do shitty ceremonies too, so dont make it sound like its abnormal to dance after you win a game. We all agree Savior is a cool guy, so dont make him look lame by acting like retarded fanboys. Savior doesnt like retarded fanboys.
you know what? i'm happy firebathero lost and cried, and i hope samsung makes the final next season because then there'd be another opportunity for him to lose in the deciding game.
you don't have to like every progamer. fans dislike certain players all the time. it's perfectly natural and it's the nature of sports everywhere.
i will never, ever in my life respect firebathero or hope that he wins, and i will always be happy when he loses. i don't care if he cries for three months straight. i guess we'll never see whatever retarded ceremony he planned to do in case he won, maybe he should've spent that time practicing TvT.
i am unbelievably happy lecaf came out with attitude because they were disrespected by samsung last time and this time in the interviews. a bit of rivalry and passion is never a bad thing. it was stupid for january to predict 4-0 because it's just more motivation for lecaf. don't take your opponent lightly, especially when they are the R1 champs.
i'm happy lecaf built a hatch in the samsung T's base, i'm happy they mocked the hell out of firebathero's ceremonies, and i'm happy they 4-1 easy'd samsung even with jaedong losing. easiest 8 points ever.
You dont need to like all players, but it would be better to hold back all those harsh words. Say if you were a savior fan and during the event that Savior would cy, someone wrote on the forums "A BIG FUCK TO YOU SAVIOR, I LOVE TO SEE YOU CRY, PLEASE DIE, DONT WIN AGAIN", obviously you would find this pretty offensive right?

You mean like what Rushz0rz does in every sAviOr thread? I personally don't really care what others think/say.
Eat shit and cry some more FBH dumb faggot. ( no offense )
Frozean's sniper role really paid of, he really had superb timing in his attack.
Jangbi should have won his game when his reavers racked up 30+ kills in the scv line of forGG. But then he curled up in his base, even though he had several shuttles and 8 gates pumping with 2 expansions running.. I feel he really should have won that game.
The 2v2, I don't really know.. the hatch ending was nice though
Stork vs Anytime was really well played but Stork fucked up/got unlucky with scarabs and that practically cost him the game (the first fight was that even).
Firebathero just played like utter shit in his tvt game.
At first you kind of feel sorry for FBH, but then you realise he would have acted like a complete tool if he had won, and it's makes it all OK to laugh at him.
Ok, before the first 8-points-bet I was in top20 in liquibet. Now I'm out of 400. :D This grand final was exactly the opposite, that I predicted. Maybe from now on I should vote on that I think will lose. :D

the thing is, i think a lot of people expected Lecaf to win, but not in this way. I would be very surprised if someone called the series the way it actually played out. I'm pretty sure most people were expecting a 2-0 lead with JD contributing two wins to Lecaf by default.
This series was definitely filled with surprises. I knew frozean was a fairly solid terran, but I didn't think he had any chance of winning a straight up macro game against JD, so I felt that JD would be practicing against timing pushes such as the one that happened. Didn't think he'd lose to two of those in two consecutive nights.

Well, I really didn't particularly care much who won or lost that finals, and I take no issue on that fact that Lecaf one. I don't really care that you're happy that FirebatHero lost, but the motivation and maliciousness is what I do take issue with. First, why do you not respect FirebatHero, even a tiny amount? He is a decent, if not good progamer, knowledgeable about the game he plays (judging from his B-net attack), and lots of people say that he has a very nice personally. The one issue that everyone brings up to defend their hatred is getting old, and is not even bad enough to separate him from the other progamers who have done such over-the-top ceremonies to other players. Even so, you dislike him. That is totally fine; I agree that not liking every competitor is definitely something that happens in sports, and it leads to some interesting crowd dynamics and turns up intensity during some games. Dislike itself might even imply an acknowledgment of skill, that the person you dislike is worthy of being a rival to your favorite player. However, not respecting someone is a totally different beast altogether. This ignores his skill, this ignores the effort he put into the game, this ignores his dedication. Although it may be pleasurable for you to discount those on the spot, they do exist, and for that reason he must contain at least some respectable qualities that all people value. Saying that you don't respect him at all is irrational, and is akin to saying that these qualities are not something you want to display in your everyday person. Having no respect for a player is also different from dislike in the way it adds none, if detrimental value to a sport. Dislike makes you root for the other team harder, makes you more passionate about your favorite winning. Disrespect leads to games being less meaningful (ex: even though FirebatHero made a great play, I'm not going to acknowledge or watch it because I don't believe he can), matches having a bad atmosphere, and a removal of quality (ex: It's not about skill anymore, it's about beating down the other person with any method you have [five pools]). Such ill will in general is pretty bad to have too. Yes, you don't care if he cries for three months straight; Yes, you want him to get back into the finals under the condition that he will always lose the important match. Yes, you don't care who disrespects him as long as long as his opponents in progaming always do.Why don't you add a chopped off finger into the mix? It seems like it will fill all of your desires: he won't be playing anymore, people will not see his retarded ceremonies anymore, yet he'll be suffering horrendously like you want. Sure it may be extreme, but you don't care, don't you? He has none of your respect anyway, he is essentially a non-entity. Of course, if you want him to stay in with your attitude now, it would just be motivated by the embodied wish in your post that he suffer constantly while still playing starcraft, in which case you are merely a malicious person. There is nothing wrong with dislike, and there is nothing wrong with grudgingly admitting that he is someone worthy of respect, and shouldn't have to constantly be put down at all costs because of the few incidents that happen to stick in your mind.

"Ass-kicking", as you so put it, and tragedy are not two mutually exclusive things. Losing a very important game is tragic, losing a game you wanted to win increases the tragedy. Savior was the "villian" in e-sports for quite some time, and when he fell, no one thought that the act of his falling was sweet, but the rise of Bisu was the true treat. Unfortunately, this seems to be the opposite in your special perception of FirebatHero, which is disturbing and sad.
Then again, your "witty" quips in your first post really don't help your point out. Interesting how you move from wantonly disrespecting one person to another.
No, losing is not a tragedy. His father didn't die, he wasn't diagnosed with cancer, he didn't get hurt.
He played poorly and lost. He's crying because he played poorly and lost. I'm glad he played poorly and lost. You pretend to live in a fantasy world where people shouldn't take pleasure when someone loses a game. That politically correct "everyone's a winner" bullshit is stupid and boring.
"Boy, I really respect Duke for playing a great game!" No, Coach K can suck my balls.
EDIT: And few people here liked it when sAviOr fell because he is still popular, but Bisu fans loved it, and sAviOr fans loved it when Bisu lost to Mind/Jd/yarnc.
i think the issues comes down to perspective. I see the player FBH cry, you see the person 이성은 cry. What i say on the internet about a character made by a guy for TV doesn't really matter and has no moral issue or importance or whatsoever.

Tragic: extremely mournful, melancholy, or pathetic: a tragic plight There is more than one definition of tragic... and it was an important game, on which lots were resting on. I think it fits the definition. I really don't care that you're glad that he lost. In that sense, both of us are on the same page. I care about people who are glad because he is CRYING. Not everyone is a winner, some people are losers. But this doesn't mean we have to take pleasure in the loser's personal anguish.
... and duke should be respected for playing a good game... but not liked
To your edit: Yes, but it discounted your villain statement, as Savior was the player everyone liked to portray as a villain at that time, even if they liked him.

I suppose that works. But don't you think in intense emotion like that, they're not really being their public persona, the player, but letting the real person out? That is what I don't think we should be laughing at.
Villain is relative to popularity in this case. sAviOr is popular, so many people don't like it when he loses. FBH is unpopular, so we love it when he loses. His crying is a direct corollary to his loss, and there's a very easy solution if he doesn't want to be made fun of for crying after a loss. He could try winning.

So it's ok to make fun of someone making a CJ face when they lose, but not ok to do it when they're visibly upset? We should be able to make fun of them in all losing situations. That's how being a fan works.

So villain isn't the word your looking for I feel... And again, loving it when he is losing and making fun of him crying are definitely two different things, no matter how directly correlated they are. Make fun of his gameplay, he deserves it. Make fun of his ceremonies, sure, they're laughable anyway. Crying? not so much. The tragedy is that he DID try to win and yet lost. It's not as if he made a choice to either be made fun of or win.
Personally, I don't make fun of the CJ face, but the CJ face can be seen as trying to keep the air of a progamer around them even when losing, keeping the image that for some reason fans like to be malicious towards. That is okay, I suppose, but when a player is so disturbed that he cannot keep it up, laughing at the resulting breakdown is not OK. There are incentives to keep a progaming-esque air around; there are no incentives to break down crying. It is something that cannot be helped and shouldn't be made fun of.
All in all, there are better things to jump on FirebatHero than crying.
decorum firebat hero is a fucking faggot that humps the air when he beats people better than him like a little twit, if you don't take pleasure in seeing him cry you're a soccer mom

So how did he beat them then? Sure, he definitely doesn't have much in ways of achievements as Savior, but being a sniper is pretty cool too. I'll grant that his ceremonies don't have much taste, though, but the reaction to them is a show unto itself.
And gee, I probably am kind of a soccer mom, then, although I was thinking more of one of those hosts on kid's shows. I suppose you hold a very hobbes-esque view of humanity then, if you think that you're supposed to take pleasure in that...
On February 17 2008 03:42 Rekrul wrote: i take pleasure in seeing karma make things right, whats wrong with laughing at a cocky kid whos crying, nothing
here we go with karma again... and cocky. Honestly, I don't think he is any more disrespectful or cocky than the other progamers. Besides the ceremonies against Savior, what has he done to warrant that? Since you live in Korea, perhaps you know more than I do and would like to explain? But my main point isn't to defend Firebathero...
Also in the spirit of empathy, laughing at anyone crying is pretty horrible, but uh. I have a feeling that that won't flow too well with the general populace.
On February 17 2008 03:44 dronebabo wrote: so whats noble about prancing around when u defeat your opponent
Uh, i never said that was noble, I was referring to my reason for defending, compared to the other ones and not FBH himself. And I agree when you say the ceremonies are in bad taste :O but I find the reaction funny.
the kid runs around in a swimming tube humping the air dancing around his opponent that was sad for losing to him...if you find that funny theres no difference in finding him crying after getting raped funny
its funny/satisfying to see a little ego get whats coming to him, thats just human nature. should we sit around feeling salty that the poor kids dreams just got bursted and he cried? atleast if we laugh and get pleasure out of it something good is coming from it

I like it when he's eliminated from individual leagues, and don't mind/am slightly amused when he cries there.
but in ProLeague I think he's crying more for letting down the team than for getting raped in that particular game and not being able to show his ceremony. so basically I'm willing to laugh at him if it's his own personal failure, but if it's for failing his teammates, I am not so eager to make fun of him.

Hahaha, maybe I am...
Well, I think the primary difference is that they were laughing at FirebatHero when he was dancing and being happy, and not laughing at his defeated opponent. In this situation, people are laughing not because of his opponent's ceremony, but at FirebatHero, the loser himself, in possibly one of his worst moments. FirebatHero is pretty arrogant, sure, but I think the audience saw his swimming tube ceremony probably more derogatory towards himself, and not so much to his opponent.
Now I feel dry though, because I didn't find the swimming tube air dancing funny... it was a lot more embarrassing... :O
Yeah, I guess I'm a bit of an idealist. Or cynic. But i don't know... pleasure directly from someone else's pain? Seems a bit mean hearted. Besides, every time FirebatHero wins, lots dismiss it. When he loses, everyone mentions karma. How much karma has to happen before his few unsightly incidents are erased anyway?
But then again, that's a pretty big digression that has no answer.

Well that's being sadistic and filled with your self assertive sense of justice.
Yes FBH runs out like a flaming homo when he wins, gets crushed when he loses, but to be honest, I think he's just trying to live the moment, egotistical and what not. And I think he was crying not simply because he lost, but he let the people closest to him, his team down. Of all the times I've seen him lose, I haven't seen him that terrible.
I found nothing satisfying about someone utterly failing something they worked hard at, especially when its out for a group and not for an individual. I'm not saying everyone should get "salty" but rather see that FBH is not some one-sided bloated Starcraft Freddy Mercury.
O sure you could back that up with, "He mocked Savior in epic proportions." Hasn't savior neck rolled a sarcastic ceremony against jju? Claiming he would 3-0 Bisu before he got utterly raped? Smack talked down the entire Sparkyz Team during one season of MSL? Everyones got that side, FBH just shows it more on the exterior, perhaps even more honest about it.

I agree with that, definitely. I just think there are some things that you shouldn't laugh about, like crying. Laughing at his gameplay or arrogance is fine and it's really deserved, if I do say so myself.
Maybe it's just a personal preference? I just tend to think that saying he deserves to cry, instead of deserves to lose is a bit harsh, even though it's such a minor detail.

If he did that, I definitely would lose most of the respect I had for him. Unlike FirebatHero's ceremonies, that would just be a personal attack... Saviors subtle ceremonies right now perfectly suit him. XD This would be so out of place...

people cry because of what the thing means to them. they're not crying about the game, theyre crying about how they blew it, or how they let their team down etc. i've seen big basketball players and football players cry too. It's all sports and it's what you make of it.

a little sweet revenge is far less a personal attack then dancing around a player after you beat him for no reason at all other than your own arrogance
and yeah it would be bad manner but thats why i wish he did it, grudge matches get personal and the juicier it gets the funner it gets
plus i think if he did a fake cry with the right charisma it would own FBH and not make savior look like an a-hole at the same time
I think it's a combination of arrogance and entertainment. You could really say that all ceremonies are pretty much a result of the player's hubris or an effort to please fans.
Unlike Midas, who just really wants to fit in.
Juicy grudge matches are entertaining, and maybe Savior does deserve to mock FBH a little, so maybe the fake tears could be understood as revenge and not just malicious mocking by people.
Haha, but he'll have to beat FirebatHero soon to pull that off, because it really would have an impact only soon after the Grand Finals, and if Savior doesn't lose an encounter before he wins.
HAH, my stream was so shitty that I just caught the aftershot of Rekrul after his and Tasteless' very striking imitation of what koreans seem to do when the camera spots them. Thanks for linking that, made my day, great reaction

Abit rough, but summed it up pretty well.
It's not like that I don't understand his emotion (I mean, HE FAILED HIS MASTERS WHEN IT MATTERED OMG), but I just can't help thinking something like "taste your own medicine, bitch". It's not really about Savior, any other good player could have been in his place. But FBH humiliated his opponent after important matches. I still think the psychological impact of that shit was one of the reasons why Savior fell from grace. He needed to get back into shape. He lost, ok. But he also had his ego stomped into the ground, something a proud guy like Savoir wouldn't easily recover from. Voila, now he's a nobody who sheds tears of happiness when he wins at least something remotely important.
Now FBH is tasting what it's like, to lose a really important game. And I feel no fucking pity for him, he's an ignorant little mothefucker kid whose undergoing a part of the life education process the hard way.
I'm so satisfied. FBH paid for his ceremonies, Stork paid for his making of excuses and bragging, January paid for her bragging, I guess they'll have to rethink something about their attitude. Because I know what happened. After Frozean won vs Jaedong they all relaxed, thinking "ok this is autowin now". No it was not. Respect to the Lecaf team spirit, it almost looked like they have been specifically prepared to win without Jaedong.

I actually think this would be great too. People hate FBH because he does gay disrespectful ceremonies, but if people did it to him too there would be no hate, only hilarity.
I think that light-hearted ridiculous ceremonies are always good, because it adds flavor. When Firebathero dances are Savior he's not saying "fuck you and your family." And although it is gay, savior feigning tears after beating FBH would be too, but definitely more hilarious.
That being said, I do like FBH, but he also cried like a little bitch. But the best thing to come of it is an opportunity for other players to mock him, as ye sew shall ye reap.

Exactly, all those things sAviOr did were awesome and it's TOTALLY understandable for his detractors (Jju fans lol?) to laugh at him now that he's losing. Arrogance and cockiness create great drama in sports and you can always back yourself up with winning. When you stop winning, you should be prepared for the consequences if you acted that way.
If Jaedong stays cocky and falls, he'll deserve it. It's all ebbs and flows.

It makes no difference if he cried or not. He lost. Crying is just a byproduct.
I am going to respond to some comments made by the sensitive little sissy-girls that are offended by others who show no sympathy towards FBH because he cried after his loss. I wonder if he didn't cry and just took his loss like a man, whether said individuals would have been as offended by people showing him no sympathy? I strongly believe they wouldn't.
I know that even the toughest of men cry, especially athletes after playoff/final losses, and there is nothing wrong with that. However, going into the match they know that someone is going to win, and someone is going to lose. If they don't want to cry after the game, its their responsibility to prepare as hard as they can to win. If they happen to lose anyways, and its not due to luck or circumstances beyond their control, but just because their opponent plain outplayed them, then they deserve it, and unless you are a fan of the team/athlete, them crying about it does not suddenly make them deserving of sympathy.
At best, you could probably pity them. But in FBH's, I don't even pity him, because there are so many instances where FBH made others feel the way he did last night, and instead celebrating his victory with class and tact, he often times performs some ridiculously disrespectful ceremony, that to me and I am sure to the loser, is like shoving salt into open wounds.

Yea, the people are pretty much the same. Except maybe for the monkey up there in charge for you guys.
Did anyone else notice that FBH looked more mature than in other leagues? When the game started and as the game progressed and the camera took a shot off him, he looked more adult to me. Or should I say more serious. I can't really describe the feeling I got when I saw him there. I was like "is that really FBH? He usually looks a bit different."
