Light often loses the mind game vs SK. He has more chances against Soma. Either way, it's highly likely that zerg wins an other ASL.

Soma knew he was a million years ahead. And he will get more ahead every second the games goes on because he has an expo vs JD's none.

Its not on Some to end this, his victory is inevitable. So he plays it safe and doesn't take risks which makes it seem like JD is amazing for hanging on, but he died minutes ago. He just hasn't typed GG yet.

JD was generating counterplay with ling harass and backstab threats, it shows how good he is - in a less hopeless situation he could win games all of us would have just GG'd without trying

Even if he thought his probability was 0%, getting knocked out of the tournament yet again year after year is highly emotional, at least allow them the chance to process the loss slowly

It was both, if JD sat in his base after losing the hatchery and built up mutas, he would have lost very quickly, he found ways to generate counterplay and those kinds of plays win you games in less dire situations

I didn't say he played amazingly well for staying in the game for longer, more than that fact that he was able to even make it seem like there was a way to win (by sniping drones, getting a critical mass of mutas that can overcome a larger force with mainly scourge because soma didn't have enough minerals to stack mutas) was what was impressive

It was okay for JD to stay a bit longer in the game; he has flipped zvz many times in the past. Though, the chances were near null in this context; no big deal about it. Also, keep in mind that as observers, we saw more than JD did.

IMO JD was fine to stay in that game. It’s his elimination match in a series that lasted 20 minutes cumulatively… I wouldn’t say it was a Fantasy GG timing.

What I feared would happen strategically came true.
Even with losing game 1, Soma was able to outplay JD in the match.
This wasn't fluke builds. Soma destroyed him in preparation.

The biggest thing he did was take away JD's ability to play well. He just candle snuffed the poor guy.
