I predicted the maps despite being T favored wouldn't factor in at all.

I don't think a single game this series was decided from map advantage. Just whoever was ready to be more cut throat and ballsy.

Hmm need to watch it again but Flash's nat was already up and he had SCVs mining there, all his depots and barracks were there as well. His nat bunker covers most of the mining area. Soma pulled like 4 to 5 drones and his econ was wrecked. Flash could have built up more marines and cleared the main, it wasn't like a clear cut loss imo.

Seems way too early to gg in an game 7 of a finals.

Yeah I don't blame Soma for "cheesing" at all there or in the series. Had to be done.

What a series, zerg all-in builds always make for insane finals matches. I was sure Soma was cooked after game two even though he was playing really well.

I gotta wonder how great 14CC is on Match Point if you can get scouted that quickly, have your opponent make a pool at 12 instead of a hatch last second... and lose to it. Like what could Flash have done better? Just seems like a bad build on that map

Especially after losing Korean Air the same way, I had hoped he would have learned. It's all good. GGs

This series is Flash's own undoing imo, he won the game using bio but just had to keep trying 14cc and mech and trying to out mind-game his opponent. Once it got to game 7 it's never easy holding unrelenting aggression from Soma.

flash thought soma would not be the type of player to risk it all on the final game, so confident on that read that he went for cc first.

but soma knew he was thinking this, Flash has done it so many times this tournament but unlike Light, he was willing to call and put it all in on pool first

from a viewer perspective, it sucks cause of the lack of awe-inspiring play.
but from a competitive player perspective, this correct read was not hard - it was pretty damn likely flash would cc first, but to actually call and counter it with an all-in pool first when the stakes are at the highest? that's quality drama in of itself

i can appreciate that, but still would have liked to see a more technically advanced series.

tbh i'm not even sure if flash is capable of it right now (be it his wrists or something else), he advanced in this tournament on the strength of his TvT (which is undeniable) and really the only Z match was a fail mech against JD
