Predictions: Sharp > Ample (but it'll be more closely contested than people think) Stork > Larva Sharp > Stork Ample > Larva (Ample's TvZ is his weakest but he did defeat Action in the prelims and Larva's ZvT is in kinda horrendous shape) Ample > Stork (This one will be close but Ample's TvP is monster mode lately) Ample and Sharp advance

Sharp really just brained him. Just the full weight of the biggest wrench you've ever seen right between his eyes. Then put Ample between his buttcheeks and squeezed until the fucker was a diamond. Then he THREW THAT DIAMOND AWAY. Like grandma did in Titanic.

You also have to take into account balance issues. It's fun for viewers to watch one or two games where you can see unique strategies or units that have never been used, but it's not fair for players if such maps have 75/25 win ratio. If you keep that for long terms, then games on such maps will actually end up with one race cheesing the other to get the game end asap.

If you keep that for long terms, then games on such maps will actually end up with one race cheesing the other to get the game end asap. That doesn't mean you throw the baby out with the bathwater. Multiple editions of a map can be made. Even deeper though, the issue with pros having so much say in these things is that they're often not there to have fun. Or rather, it doesn't seem like the highest priority. Historically, it's all about predictability and comfort zones. What feels good for a pro is ultimately pretty bad for casuals and spectators, or essentially people there to enjoy themselves. Some really great data will be had when pros actually quite like a weird map, bonus points if it isn't perfectly balanced. Then we can start to mine why that is and actually find some kind of equilibrium between what's fun and what the pros will accept. I personally have always found it quite frustrating how inflexible pros can be when it comes to this stuff, and would love to see it change. Of course, when the big tournament decrees that you must play on weird maps, it's a nice little dose of central planning that cuts out the middle man and all is well.

That's exactly why players ban it in group stage: if my advancement depends on 1 single game, it better be on an even playing field. And it can't be "just one tournament" either. This time it's Death Valley, next time it'll be Monty Hall, next time it'll be Roaring currents,... meaning one race will always be absent in Ro16 of each tournament. Then it's a bad tournament.

On the game we saw on it, Sharp had some good ideas, but the execution was severely lacking at times. Maybe that's how the map would always play out in TvZ with those particular builds, but I doubt it.

The secondary observer cam popping up is such an interesting addition this season! I love it, though comparing upgrades in mirror match ups was super difficult to decipher. Sharp looking... sharp in his TvTs. I'm thankful for the match on Roaring Currents but that looked so rough for TvZ. Happy to see Larva back playing at a high caliber, I hope he brings his turtling to ZvZ for this season of Zergs ![]() Ample played okay but it felt more like Stork was playing poorly. His control over the HTs was just abysmal today. Really disappointed in his results, and the state of P in the current era - we desperately need some innovators to rise to the ASL level.

Frankly speaking I have the utmost respect for Nyoken and the considerable amount of time he has dedicated to various casts.. he has most certainly proven his ''heart and commitment to the game'' as Tony G would say. Surely if he's not doing it now he has his legit reasons.. and I seriously doubt money is central among them. The poll was more a jab to the current casting..... I don't know what's worse, Xun repeating the same 10 phrases every minute and compensating with artificially-modulated voice tone and quirky unit-attack-names trivia for the utter lack of understanding of the game, or Saiyan for cucking and taking a back seat even tho it's pretty damn obvious half of the time he does know better.. which is not to say his input is anywhere near those of the guys who actually play the game at BSL level and know what's up. And god bless them.... they really are trying.. but for f*ck's sake.. even outside of the competence remarks - some people are just cool and have it, and others don't (and of the latter - some are actually actively-annoying, one half of the current duo that is). Only Rapid I can put higher on that list....... guy was literally one of a kind

Year after year after his hiatus in 2018/2019 Stork get's into ASL and does absolutely nothing! Why can't the man just retire and pave the way for new blood? This is really annoying! If he had vacated his spot and just got on with daddy life instead of milking his dry "carrier" we could have had Shine, Scan, another SC2 pro or even guys from China! About Artosis predictions... Boy was Artosis full of crap when he predicted "Larva" would fall out of bracket in the loosers match! He was also shockingly wrong saying how terran would be favored vs. zerg in the "Roaring Currents" - WTF? The one certain thing we have seen in the history of ASL, is that on island maps terran is the least favored race (the ASL results speak for themselves). About Sharp vs. Ample... Thank's to Stork's another boring/standard "performance" in ASL, we were left with Sharp vs. Ample final - seriously? Another TvT? FUCK THAT! I ain't watching another TvT! If by chance I see Ample's face in R16, i might watch it then, just to see Sharp's disappointed face (cheering for the underdog Ample)! About Larva... LARVA!!! The MAN! Does not need to prove anything more! Still manages to make this ASL the most exciting ASL in many years!

This Roaring Currents map went the way it did because zerg has the highest HP transport unit. No one drops like a zerg to cross the enemy's line of fire with impunity. This will really play into Jaedong's hand if he survives until that map. No zerg drops quite like Jaedong, I'm still looking forward to when zergs will start infesting CC's just for this ability.

Stork's game vs Ample where he committed too many high templars on bombing workers instead of the siege on his 5th base was a big mistake Wish you luck next season Stork. Last season was where he looked really good but alas
