I really really hope that TaeNgu makes it through even though he's a player of the disgusting race of terran.

if he had blocked his ramp with the scvs properly he wouldnt have died.. not saying he would have a chance to win but at least hed be alive..

he also lost like 3-4 valks sloppily..

that was very mid.. teangu looked a lot better than ssak imho

Oh I know.. but I feel bad having 100% of only the "two obvious choices".. cause it feels like there has to be at least 1-2 upsets..

Best is ahead even though he fucked up his natural sim city.. But looks like a lurker bust..

lets see if it is that and if it is indeed.. Best can figure it out in time

I wonder how long the 5 scvs that repaired the turret stood there not mining and not repairing. This will be the last time I vote for ssak in LB haha. Not even expecting him to win but at least a solid performance.

That was totally lackluster...

Action's ZvT is way too good with all his small little mind games. Ssak was completely off as a result.

so as Zerg do u only need 2 bases to beat a terran below tip top level? you could argue ssak couldve gone into a faster starport, but that would also mean less ground units and action couldve transitioned quicker into his lurkers.

Well you need god like Muta micro too, and probably a favored spawning position. It also helps that half of sSak's ground army was out on the map looking for... nothing.

tbf to ssak he was looking for a third base which wasnt there. i feel like a moveout like this especially off 4 rax opener is incredibly common. who goes 4 rax and turtles?

I can't think of another player as imbalanced as Ssak. If you only looked at his TvT, he would look like one of the best players in the world, with incredible macro, army movement and micro as well. But then he plays any other matchup like TvZ and barely even looks like an S rank player. In a previous ASL against Queen, he was clearly ahead but then floated 1k minerals 7 minutes in and lost, and in this round, he has a group of marines desperately trying to look for a non-existent 3rd base being completely useless

Ssak is weird. sometimes his tvz and tvp look god tier as long as he gets to pull off small mind games to get small advantagesm if he is on the receiving end of small mind games he falls apart.

When he gets a spot in major proleague he generally does quite well. He had an all kill somewhere in 2023.

Teangu played well for an amateur but was just out-classed by his opponents. You can REALLY see the difference between pros and amateurs in these games. I hope we see more of him in future tournaments. Remember how soma lost his first few Ro24 appearances before taking off really well? Hopefully that will happen again with a couple of these ammeters in the near future.

I actually think TY is going to surprise us in group D and proceed with Jaedong.
Likewise Speed has a good chance he will do well in E. I take Speed over Shine and Speed/Mong can go any direction. SnOw though seems certain to go through.

Dude... You seem to not know anything about ASL. None of these dudes will go on to the next round, maybe Snow if he would manage to break the cycle of time itself... The others, I mean, who are you kidding, they will play about as well as Sea... But yea, I appreciate your very positive outlook for... something else...

That's a lot for you to assume. I stay up-to-date on pros their performances on a daily basis. I know from TY that he's historically played well in online team(and stage) events against Ro24 caliber players, and that's a TY with minimal practice and activity in BW. He's been grinding practice for ASL really hard and its shown in his online performances so far.

TY's been showing good results in online matches specifically vs Mind, Rush and Ssak. He had multiple close matches vs SnOw and Best, and vs lower caliber pros he won all sets. TY has a lot of stage experience from SC2 so he'll be capable of keeping himself composed and bring his best. He has the talent, he has the experience, and he put in some real hard work. Does not mean he will succeed, but I am giving favorable odds.

sc2 is a much less competitive game than sc1 though. if u look at the amount of people playing sc2 at a top level, you can basically get all of them in a ro16 format of gsl, with some exceptions for serral clem and reynor. in sc1 there are tonsssss of monsters and the game towers over sc2 in terms of popularity and playerbase. ty being good in sc2 and having stage presence rly doesnt matter in determining how well he will do in sc1. he's vsing 2 ASL champions in modern era and flippin jaedong who is honestly underrated even though he has many fans. ty rly shouldnt take a map.

TY has played SC2 on stage for a decade, and had some pre-sc2 stage experience. He went through the era where it was much more popular and cutthroat. He has more stage experience under heavy pressure than almost everyone in Broodwar at this point.
