JD seems hungry. His recent performance surprised me. I wasn't a believer and before this tournament I would have told you JD have next to no chance in a Bo5 vs hero. Based on raw skill I think hero has this by 55(+)% Prolly 3-2 either way. I will root for JD and his star power. Best surprisingly is the only Protoss who seems to do well vs hero consistently last time I checked hero's ZvP performance. It's in Best's interest the scarier ZvPer advances here? But imagine finally getting your first gold medal at 30+, would you want it to be vs hero or vs JD? Definitely the latter, right? I don't care about this ZvZ.. I wanna see Best finally have his success on stage. No repeat of July vs Best. It's time, Best. It's your time now.

I cross my fingers that JD will win. So much skill, but always living in the shadow of Flash :-(

JD has improved a lot lately, but can he compete with the hyper aggressive hero who seems to be in top shape?

Jaedong vs Hero this year: 8-13 Jaedong vs zerg this year: 61-42 Hero vs zerg this year: 44-29 Pinnacle betting odds as of 90 minutes before the games begin: btw given the above stats i think its free money to bet on hero at 2 odds.

Still impressive performance from Tyrant. He should never think about retiring. Look at this crazy season: all top dogs eliminated, Bisu didn't even make it. Come back stronger JD!

Well, if JD had his old skills, he would have probably won most of the ASLs, his old skills can have a case for the best broodwar player ever, not saying he is, but definitely can have such a case and certainly one for the best Zerg ever:-)

Even JD himself acknowledges that the matchup hasn't been favourable in a long time. Yeah I thought the same thing, guess it's hard to shake off 15 years of narrative bias. I'm fine with hero winning but this was a depressing series, it was never close.

Yea even during KESPA era JvZ sorta ended, with most of his tournament runs ended due to him losing to zergs in the last 12-18 months before the switch to SC2 IIRC. Not sure if those loses were as much him losing his skill or just other zergs catching up to him in the MU though. Sad to see JD lose like this, but hopefully we get to see him back next season and playing some more ZvTs/ZvPs.
